Enjoyed Mexico v Germany and Brazil v Switzerland last night.
What do we make of VAR so far? I think it's been right more than not, but am bamboozled as to the criteria they are using for alerting the referee to certain issues.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
I was amazed at the Saudi's lack of attacking movement. It was like they were used to just passing it around until a defender makes a mistake. Fair play to Russia though, they might have been the lowest ranked team in the comp (lol, Fifa rankings), but they played a solid game and were clinical in f...

Final World Cup warm up game for England tonight. Looks like we are playing Butland in goal and giving Alexander-Arnold his debut. I'll be interested to see how we do - Costa Rica are no mugs these days.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I try and watch every PPV, though I feel that may go by the wayside now that the standard length PPV is 4 hours it is a bit of a slog. I do enjoy all the NXT Takeover shows though, and I try and keep up the the tv show and 205 Live. Speaking of 205, I'm looking forward to seeing what Lio Rush brings...

Re: The Voting Age
I suppose if we wanted to be logical then voting would also be limited to those who had passed English and maths exams to a basic level. Although I think it suits politicians to have an electorate which is not especially well educated on average. That sounds dangerously close to creating a class di...

Re: The Voting Age
16. If you're old enough to work, pay NI contributions, marry (albeit with parental consent) and have a family, then you are old enough to have a say in how the country is run. Now, if someone were to propose upping the age for all those listed above, I'd consider the argument for voting not being a...

Deadpool 2 is ace! If you enjoyed the first one, you'll like this. I actually think this one flows better (probably better overall too).

Re: movies
Deadpool 2 and Solo reviews are dropping now - both getting general positive scores (mostly 4/5s from credible sources).
Seeing Deadpool 2 tonight, so will be able to report back.

I may give this a bash for the 18-19 season if the league is still going?

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
World Cup squad is being announced today, I believe. Already reported that Hart and Wilshere are out of the squad (which I am happy about).
I am actually quietly looking forward to this WC. I don't think we'll win, but I think we have a team / system that has the potential to beat anyone on the day.

There was a period of time where there were on-and-off issues on the site. The gremlins seem to have now gone, but this is the toll it has taken.

Saw Prevenge the other day. Bonkers film. I did really enjoy it, though I imagine it will be a marmite one for people.

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
As I put a few posts back, I like the idea of a mix of STV and PR, alongside the creation of a small amount of extra MPs. In your constituency You would use STV for your constituency vote, so that whomever wins the seats is at least *somewhat* supported by 50%+1 of voters in your constituency. This ...
