Re: What has made you happy today
Achieved a long time ambition today, when I became the proud tenant of a cabinet in our local antiques centre, where I will be selling glass, ceramics, jewellery and assorted stuff. Been wanting to do this for years and years. I still don't know anywhere near as much as I would like to, but this is ...

Re: What pissed you off today
Just had a package delivered by Yodel that was completely mashed at one end, despite being marked fragile. When I queried it with the driver, he pointed to the package and stated that it only contained plants. He was actually pointing to the sustainable cardboard logo (which is a tree) and is on mos...

Re: The food thread
Just tried an Iceland "cook from frozen" turkey breast joint, wrapped in bacon. Did not expect much for £2.50 but it was really good. Far more succulent and tasty than I expected. When I am back to working full Sundays again in the near future, this might be an easy back up dish.

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?
Just got back from Wacken and TBH the bum bag issue was not an issue whatsoever. I acquired one and managed to fit everything I needed into it, with room to spare. A folded carrier bag carried within the bumbag allowed me to purchase merch and not get it soaked (although once filled, the bag could n...

Wasp nest in external house wall. Got in through a loose piece of mortar. Acquired proprietary wasp nest killer and used it, but don't feel comfortable in any way, knowing they have technically built a nest in my house ! Just hope we got the Queen, so the rest will bugger off.

Re: The Relationships Thread
Mothers of other half's can be strange creatures. Mine was fine for the first 18 months of our relationship, until she realised that I was not gonna encourage her precious son to cut his hair and wear a suit. Then she turned. She is the person in the wedding photos that everyone goes "who is th...

Re: What has made you happy today
after nearly 5 months of refusing to be bullied by Sky's inept "customer services teams", I finally received a written apology, the refund of a full year's line rental and 2 months lack of service refund, following a mis-sell. The call handlers I dealt with were absolutely shocking in resp...

Re: POLL: The EU Referendum
Whilst it is good that democracy is alive and well, both my hubby and I are now genuinely concerned regarding our jobs (German owned company with only a relatively small uk operation and the financial market). I also wonder how, in future years, farmers will be able to persuade people within the UK ...

Re: What's upset you?
The news that Ian Paice of Deep Purple has had a TIA (mini-stroke). Although he is hoping to resume touring again in a month, we have lost way too many this year and the initial rumours of a major stroke was upsetting to say the least.
