Spent a miserable weekend failing to get my racecar to work. It was just one problem after another. I only made it to 5 of the 10 qualifying sessions, and then to round off the weekend, the racing itself was rained off :-(

I bought a terabyte of disk space, only to find out when I got it home that despite the assurances of the guy in the shop, it didn't have any jumpers to drop the speed down to SATA 150, and hence my motherboard can't see it :-(

Wasp and Susperia at the Wulfrun......one of my favourite bands of all time is Wasp and tonight (techincally last night) they did no wrong Two obvious words spring to mind here: book them! That said, judging by their merch prices, Blackie would probably want 100 grand for the privilege of setting f...

Or if that's too big a stretch for your wallet, then you could rent it from Blockbuster or Lovefilm...

The weather. It's unpleasantly hot, particularly when you're outside working on a car. How people can claim that hot sunny days like today are a good thing is just beyond me.

The erlang runtime, and py_interface, and the fact that the two are both undocumented, and they refuse to work with each other properly. Sigh :-(

I took my new racecar out for its first test runs today. A few minor teething troubles, but overall, it was great. I set a new personal best elapsed time (8.268s for the quarter mile), and there's plenty more to come. We're running it with a low rev limiter until we're happy with the way it's behavi...

What I thought was a thrust bearing in my car going is actually the clutch, and since its hydraulic it involves taking out the gearbox and for good measure the slave cylinder is on its way out. 250 quid, wham, bam, thank you maam. I've yet to meet a car where you could change the clutch without rem...
