My mates gave my 20s an amazing send off. I love them all.

didn't fuck up the first show. Also basically having an amazing time.

well, actually the elation of not fucking up the first show came before the feeling left-outness but in the end I actually stood up and told one of the crew how I felt and since then I have been included in all the beer escapades. Hurrah for being true

Went to Durdham Down bookshop's closing down sale today, figured the least I could do given the sad circumstances was finally pay a visit. Got some good books out of it though. Interesting one about language and society, and one about bawdy WW2 poetry.

Washed, polished and waxed the car. Darkened all the plastics on the outside, hoovered and dusted the inside, and cleaned all the crap off the inside of the windows. It looks and smells great, despite how shit the paintwork is. I know it won't last, but that was a couple of hours working in the sun listening to some good music and it felt good to have something to show for it at the end.

Proper had the reverse of that yesterday when I'd come out of work wanting to die from partying all night. Sun was shining gloriously but I drew the curtains closed and went straight to bed

Dawned on me earlier that I'll be back in Belgium in under a fortnight's time, had to make myself a Mitraillette for dinner because I couldn't wait that long for all the double-carbin' goodness.

I was nurse in charge on the late shift (after returning from 4 days off to what can only be described as absolute chaos/hell). No one died!

Work has been pleasant, lovely weather that makes even a cheap lager taste great.

There's a German beer fest in town (right by work, incidentally), wanna go to it tomorrow but need to see if I can coax people along to it.

My best friend is coming over from the UK today to spend the weekend with us. I'm so excited for the first time in months! Finally something to look forward to

Decent day. Helped a friend buy a car, they treated me to a bloody good lunch - probably to the point where I won't need to eat tonight!
