TV: Current and Recent
Re: TV: Current and Recent
I have started watching iZombie, which aside from the somewhat shady acting at points. I am actually kind of enjoying it. It's quite an interesting concept.

Finale of Peaky Blinders was brilliant. Roll on the next season! Outcast pilot was interesting. Will see where it goes over the next few EPs.

We need a GoT spoiler thread so I don't have to go "well that sure was an episode".
Re: TV: Current and Recent
It sure was. Woof woof.

I'm in the weird position of having not watched the 3 previous weeks episodes, but knowing exactly what happens in episode 9 because I'm in it.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Braindead - sci-fi comedy about US politics, exploding heads, and alien ear ants. The "previously on Braindead" reprise songs at the beginning are brilliant.
Dead of Summer - a supernatural/satanic/slasher series set in a summer camp during 1989. Nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is and just doesn't feel like the time period it's meant to be set. Points for the nods to John Carpenter, and the use of Tony Todd is acceptable, but it just feels cheap and the CGI is nothing short of dreadful. Will give it another couple of weeks.
So, Penny Dreadful finished completely then. I don't believe a word of this "oh, it was only ever planned for three seasons" bullshit, but they did the best they could and it went out pretty well.
Chucked Preacher in the bin after three clumsy, uneventful and stupid episodes.
Chucked Outcast in the bin after it revealed itself to be nothing more than an extremely slow moving possession-of-the-week formula show.
Chucked the second season of Wayward Pines in the bin because it was absolute shite.
The last two episodes of Game of Thrones were probably the best since it began.
Banshee ended brilliantly.
The season finale of The Americans was nice and satisfying.
Bates Motel was a disappointment this season, but the final two episodes have given me reason to hope for more next time.
There are rumours that the next season of Agents of SHIELD could be its last. After this season, I really hope not.

Fucking mint wasn't it?? lolled at Behemoth nearly flicking one of those mini robots out of the arena.
Re: TV: Current and Recent
Ai fucking cracking. Good to see we're getting as many dumb weird robots as proper ones. Was worried it'd just be like 50 hypnodisks.

Series 3 of BoJack Horseman was excellent. Not as soul destroying as the 2nd but it still had its moments.

Damn right! Bit anticlimatic this week, but there was plenty of good bits too. Looking forward to next week.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Been invited to a cast and crew screening of Season 5 Episode 9 of Game Of Thrones at The Odeon next month. It's on a Friday as well so everyone will be taking a half day and going on the piss in town beforehand no doubt. I can see this degenerating into a drunken brawl between the Wildlings and the Boltons outside the cinema
