Wasn't that Vic Grimes in XPW? I think he survived the experience but he wasn't happy about it.

sorry I'm not too sure, it may have been, I just remeber seeing it and being told someone died from that, or a similar incident, although the person that told me could easily be wrong

The Toad wrote:Definitely - they were all excellent wrestlers, but the stars were Raven, Sandman, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer etc. The emphasis was less on the actual wrestling, which was a shame at times. They really did have some talent.

Some of the hardcore matches were crap technically, although people like Sabu, Jerry Lynn and RVD could deliver both technical and hardcore in the same match.
All right, so I MADE a mistake! ONE MISTAKE!
Can't a man start over?! Do I have to keep on PAYING?! HUH?!
Maybe I should make another mistake! ...maybe TWO more!

I'm 99.99% sure no-one died during an ecw match, the worst i have seen is the mass transit incident (new jack knifing a 17yr old), sabu tearing his bicep open against terry funk, all of new jack's balcony dives and one of the headhunters breaking/snapping their leg in graphic fashion then sandman caning him...

rvd vs jerry lynn are all classics, they use weapons to add to the match and innovation, as opposed to most of the crap xpw and iwa-ms do/did where they just hit people with objects then they bleed.

as a side note, imo the best ecw event ever was Cyberslam 99 where the finale was a weapons filled cage match!

does anyone here like combat zone? it has majorly toned down but at the start of the milennium they had a feud with big japan which produced some amazing matches like "Un f'n believable" and numerous fire death matches!
I can see by that look that you have in your eyes, you came here for metal to fight and to die!

I have some original ECW PPV's and the technical aspect of their tag teams was amazing , especially the Eliminators

The problem we have now is that WWE is so watered down , mainly to keep the performers on the road, the do 5 shows a week , i mean these guys really earn their money, i read the Bret hart biography, and i now have so much respect for these guys, even if they aren't the most interesting people to watch in some cases, the dedication they have is unreal

Triple H is the only decent one left imo.

What happened to the (adittedly hazy) good old days when wrestlers were badass and weren't oiled up models dancing around on a stage?

Yes yes yes
Had to take out CM Punk, he aggrivates me and I want to punch him in the face
...but then I'd probably end up dead so...

Shelton Benjamen
Evan Bourne
The Miz

there are a lot of young very good wrestlers coming through now , sady they're pushing the muscled morons with 5 moves in the top spots , although angry dave is bloody entertaining at the moment

and the fact that CM Punk annoys you must mean he's a very good heel , that's his job
