That does sound good.

Spent all bloody evening cooking this pilaf I do every now and then. Got enough to last me a whole week and I did it pretty damn good this time. I don't do enough throwing chillies into meals to make things more interesting.

Tonights cooking escapades.

Chilli chicken fajitas + guacamole for tonight and the start of a chicken tikka for tomorrow. After making all of it from scratch I may have made a slight mess of the kitchen :lol:

Well I cooked (as in put in the oven) a Co-op coppa (some kinda pork), gorgonzola and fig chutney pizza. This is damned good.

Nah, it's called missing crap English food. Fill your boots, you will be craving remoulade, fleischsalat, kartoffelpuffen and other things not available in this country before you know it !

Made an experimental griddled salmon biryani thing. Bit too much on the curry paste, one tablespoon as opposed to half the jar should suffice next time.

So we (I) got a larger slow cooker for xmas. Christened ut with pheasant given to us by my uncle (with crab apple jelly/jam), and chicken stew. From memory, ingredients:

2 pheasants. }
3 chicken breasts. } Diced/shredded
Swede.
Potato.
Turnip.
Carrot.
Cherry tomatoes.
Walnuts.
Red kidney beans.
Red lentils.
Leftover damson wine.
Herbs.
Chicken stock cube.
Veg stock cube (wanted 2 chicken cubes, only had 1).

Verdict: Not too bad. Perhaps wanted more wine, as there wasn't much to put in. Tomatoes that survived the cooking intact became tasty balls of napalm. Pheasant was nice. Might cease use of turnip/swede/potato to work out if they're the flavour flattening culprits. 7/10

We were too ill to eat it at the time, so it's been in the freezer since Christmas. But now it's been defrosted, roasted and eaten, the three bird roast was very tasty. Plenty of leftovers for bubble and squeak, too.

If you are a vegan you can cook all sorts of beans and pulses from scratch in 15-20 minutes if you have a pressure cooker. Also very good for cheap cuts of meat.

Made a mushroom & potato madras yesterday. Absolute winner.
