My ex (still close friends) will be on the same train too. So who else is actually coming (including any non forum friends of yours)? Jim and Charlote suggested they would considering the short distance, if they're still paying any attention to the thread?

Thought that went pretty well. There were only the two regular forum users (although four of us had been to the festival) but it was a very enjoyable afternoon/evening.

Thought all the pubs we drank in were nice, although I suspect Henry's is the sort of place that's a lot nicer when it's quieter.

Pity the Devonshire Cat was so rammed although, if we'd managed to drink there, we might not have had time for one in the Rutland Arms.

Hopefully a suitable gig will provide the opportunity to do another Real Ale Twats sometime soon.

Both Henry's at the Dev Cat get really busy at times on a Saturday. What time did you go to those?

Henry's was quite busy. I think that was at about 6pm and it was reasonably busy but we managed to get a seat. The Fat Cat was at 9ish I think, so it was rammed to fuck.

Yeah, that's probably the worst time for the Cat - can take up to 40 minutes or so to get served around that time. If you were staying late in Sheffield, I'd suggest trying closer to 11pm (I've often gone there just prior to go to Corporation on a Saturday night).

It is rare that Henry's get really heaving, as there is plenty of standing room. But yeah, tea time-ish on Saturday is when it ramps up a bit.

Was good to see you again, and glad you brought some mates as at one point I thought it might just be a 1 to 1 man-date should be fun to do another with a few more forumers when we find a good event to tag it on to

Yeah. Have to keep an eye out for gigs that a lot of us are likely to be at, in cities with good pubs.

Did you say you'd got Rock Soc membership this year? Me and (Leicester) Dan are in the Rock Soc this year so, if you are too, we could have some sort of Real Ale Twats meetup in the Serpent's Lair.
