Obviously this forum is pretty redundant nowadays. Anyone got any memories they want to share of the old days. I didn't post much but enjoyed reading it. I can only think of the following:

I used to love the Andy Hall arguments and how everyone used to gang up on him. He was like Gandalf the Red but ten times worse.

I used to love Darkweasel's pervy gifs that he'd put in the hot or not thread.

I remember Finnvitka because she used to have a Young Ones avatar. I recall her being pretty angry. I also remember Holly the Headbanger. There may have been someone called Motoramarth as well.

Closing fast moving threads to deal with dickheadery

All the forum "upgrades", which almost invariably made the forums worse by either making the colours awful, hiding the breadcrumb trail, creating giant gaps between quotes and content, or simply fucking up the passwords database so several dozen people couldn't log in any more (and subsequently created new accounts).

EDIT: and Tet making greasemonkey scripts to fix half of it.

Sniper Dogs was a thread (back in... '11, perhaps?) where someone wanted to know if there were going to be "snifer dogs". That single missing letter sparked a quick chain of evevents*, started by someone pointing out the typo looked a bit like "sniper"

It was in 2009, as it was before I joined, but being referenced as a recent thing when I signed up shortly after the festival that year.

I remember the Forum Member awards that used to happen every year, and you could guarantee every year that someone would complain about the result.

Although I haven't posted here in a long while, I still speak and see people regularly that became friends though.

It was a fun novelty thing to do, but it did get a little circle-jerky later on.

That strange snowflake storm when Miriam Cohen's obviously humourous threat to burn down someone's tent was treated seriously.

The blond girl in the bikini in the photo from one of the festivals that was met with a lot of mickey-taking.
