A policeman friend from school sent me a video of him taking a brick to the head on The Twelfth. I shouldn't laugh, but it's just too funny. And he's loving being off on sick pay from it.

Was out for a meal with the extended family earlier at a Creole restaurant and my sister ordered something called "Plantation Tart", and while debating whether or not it's insensitive to name a dish after a facet of the slave trade my grandad looks down at his whole fried duck and exclaims "mine is a slave judging from the fucking size of it!"

Might it have just been a misspelling of the worth plantain? I remember seeing something where waiters would slip up when pronouncing Mesclun as Mescaline.

Nope, definitely said plantation. Just a vegi puff pastry tart really. Plantain tarts are kind of like a Jamaican sweet turnover/pasty thing aren't they? I don't know much about Jamaican cooking other than jerk chicken and rice n peas.
