East Finchley eh? Do you live near Muskett?
Re: What's freaking you out?
I was just thinking how odd it was to see someone from near where I grew up. Not entirely surprised to see the shooting, though. It was never the best of areas.

The East Finchley Boy Scout.
I bet no one gets that reference.

Re: What's freaking you out?
Looks like I'm having my gallbladder out. Random pain for the last 2 years or so is just getting unbearable on a daily basis, went to the docs and they suspect gallstones. Ultrasound to come but this all seems like classic gallstones which probably means surgery. Bit weirded out by the idea of general anaesthetic, and the recovery afterwards. Anyone had this done? Or know anyone who has?

Get as much codeine as you can.
Anaesthetics are fine really. I rambled a bit when I came to from my hernia op but felt mostly alright. Just hella groggy.
I repainted my bedroom less than a week after having my surgery, which considering it was stitching my stomach muscles back together is pretty good I'd say.
But unfortunately I know nothing of gall bladder so I can only give you general surgery info. But you'll be fine babe <3

Normally the gallbladder is removed by keyhole surgery. You will feel like you have been kicked by a horse for a few days, but recovery is pretty quick.

Thanks guys, sounds like the recovery won't be too bad still freaked out by the idea of general anaesthetic. Genuinely quite interested in the surgery, tbh. I've seen a couple of videos, wish I could actually watch.

Genuinely freaking out about some stuff. Don't really want to post too much but feel free to pm me. I can't think further ahead than three weeks at the minute.

I really freak out about needles so when I had general anaesthetic i was crying because i didn't want the injection, and then when it happened for some reason I was laughing hysterically and then apparently mid-cry-laugh i just went out cold. it takes less than 10 seconds

I felt the same the last time I had it but it cleared fairly fast and I was back home after a few hours, watched a film. The CoCodemol hit me hard - apparently some people process it faster than others and it made me woozy. The first time I was fine the next day and was back in work the following day. What I didn't like was being wheeled about while lying down - couldn't see what was going on with all these people in the small prep room but once the anaethetic goes in you'll be out in seconds.

I did sort of enjoy being slightly zoinked on co-codamol, looking back. Still got the best part of a box's worth as well.
