Re: Next Announcement

Careful - you'll open yourself up for the predictable 'kids these days!' backlash  Back to your point, I would say that they're too big for the Sophie stage - but only because they've been away and haven't played live in so long (particularly in the UK). They will get the inevitable bump in cr...

Re: Next Announcement

I think Saxon are the Sunday special guests, I've a feeling a band like Testament will be playing as well. It would be fantastic if MF could play but as much as we post suggestions of bands we all want sometimes it really is either logistics or if a band wants to play another festival. Except there...

Re: Next Announcement

I think they'd already booked this year's headliners by the time MF reached out to festivals, so now they're stuck trying to book them sort of last second without a natural place to put them.

Re: Next Announcement

Just about any band that gets billed as "the future" never lives up to the hype, who predicted the success of Ghost, Sabaton, Volbeat? There are plenty of bands that are popular simply because people like their music, not because a label is trying to push them as the next big thing.

Re: 2019 Albums

The only bands that cite Machine Head as an influence are pub bands that never go anywhere, Machine Head were always a step too late on every trend.

Re: Volbeat UK & IRE Tour

I thought the sound was pretty poor in Glasgow, just a total muddled mess from both bands.

Re: 2019 Albums

1. Marecages - Marais Juana Une Ode Cannabique 2. Husbandry - A Port in a Storm 3. Mystik - Mystik 4. King Gizzard - Infest the Rats Nest 5. DEATHCHANT - DEATHCHANT A lot of smaller bands for me this year, the bigger bands really didn't deliver this time around, plenty of albums that are okay but no...

Re: Idle Hands

Thought the album was really cool, but from what live footage I've seen the vocals are a bit lackluster, they lack the energy of the record. I could take them or leave them.

Re: Mercyful Fate/King Diamond

This would guarantee my attendance for the first time since 2014, I wonder how many OG Bloodstock attendees could be persuaded to come back if they book a few rare bands like this. If they catered to that crowd as much as they do the crowd that doesn't even want to go, they could probably inflate th...

Re: 2019 Albums

Pneuma is boring, Culling Voices is just bad, but Descending and 7empest are brilliant.
