Re: Next Announcement

Dammit.

So far, the lineup has about 4 bands for me, maybe 5 if I really push.

Bloodstock are really going to have to pull it out of the bag. Better get on the Wishlist forum, peeps!

Re: Next Announcement

I think it's only bands that definitely can confirm have remained. The remainder I would guess are not sure what 2021 holds so didn't absolutely confirm. I hope Behemoth make it back.

I do wonder if the presence of Judas Priest means a lot of cheaper (not great) bands.

Re: Next Announcement

Just noticed, the Bearded Theory was rescheduled for mid September. So being postponed until sometime in September or even October could be a possiblity. Better get your coat, hat and gloves ready! If it was going back a couple of months they'd never have created the 2021 lineup page. The decision'...

Re: Next Announcement

The Ramblin Man fest put some comments up about Download and Glastonbury - big fests have infrastructure things like Motorway junction closures/diversions to sort months in advance with organisations that may be on shut down, Glastonbury would have started to build its wall by now, can't do it with...

Re: Next Announcement

At the end of the day, it seems overbearingly obvious that this is just an insurance thing. I mean, when was the last announcement? The last one with Video Nasties etc. I think had to happen simply as someone messed up and posted too early. There's been nowt since. Hence I honestly believe they are...

Re: Next Announcement

I expect the announcement will be that it's cancelled but that they've been able to secure x number of bands from this year's lineup for next year (which would explain the 2021 lineup page that was up temporarily and then taken down). Possibly waiting until Monday to see how many more of those band...

Re: Next Announcement

Personally I felt that 2020 was not lining up to be a great year band-wise. I would say that 2018 was slightly better but not by much. I had a lot of free time let's say. Compare that to 2016 and 2017 I was pretty much constantly busy! I do wonder if the cost of Judas Priest really does have a big i...

Re: Next Announcement

My gut feeling is it's all about insurance. My guess is they've insured the festival and they're playing by the rules to ensure they will get a payout in the event of having to cancel it. If they do it now before their insurers have no option but to support the cancellation, they will probably get n...

Re: Next Announcement

Well Download is officially cancelled... It's a shame but inevitable I guess...

I do wonder now about Bloodstock. I kinda hope it does go ahead if it's safe to do so.

Re: Next Announcement

A few things I take from this: Possibly it may go on: Guns n Roses are due to play Twickenham Stadium soon... not yet cancelled. In fact, GnR played in Mexico on the 15th March, only 7 days ago. If GnR haven't cancelled, maybe they're gambling on all will be OK by then same as Bloodstock and Downloa...
