Re: German Big Four
That would be fantastic, so based on the last couple of year's line ups almost certainly won't happen...

Re: Next Announcement
Confirmation bias fans ahoy - lots of people (including the promoter) putting out fairly anecdotal evidence (or in the case of largest number of day tickets - irrelevant if your takings for the rest of the festival are down) so here's mine. A lot more space both in the campsites and arena, lack of m...

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands
Thursday: Barbarian Hermit - not my cup of tea. Footprints in the Custard - 6 Rotting Christ - 9, superb and a great start to festival. Even friends that hadn't really heard them before agreed that they were really good. Friday: Xentrix - 6.5, not as good as I've seen them previously but still a sol...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
Good: the much reduced queues to get in this year (no queuing for 2 hours). Some of the food was nice. Usual good choice of beers. Most of the security people were friendly though a few could have done with lightening up a bit (yes, supervisor in the purple top I'm thinking of you!). Bad: weather - ...

Re: See tickets.....
I had no end of problems getting our tickets out of See Tickets - strangely sorted when I found an email for the CEO and dropped him a message.
At this stage I'd definitely ask them to sort box office pick up for you (and to refund your delivery charge!).

DAMIM supported Memoriam a couple of weeks ago and were pretty decent.

Re: Themed stages
No thanks - it works at Hellfest due to the size of the festival.
As others have said BS really needs to up its game in terms of the bands booked. Even looking back at previous BS line ups there are more and more relatively unknown bands.

Re: Next Announcement
I like the sound of Primordial and Abbath (or Immortal without Abbath - I quite enjoyed their last album and first without him)….so inevitably they won't happen! I think the bigger issue is that organisers of anything shouldn't start getting personal with their customers. If you organise anything yo...

Re: BOA 2018: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
The Good: great music in a great location with great friends. Good beer choices most of the time in Lemmy's bar. The bad: the queue to get in - we arrived at around 1300 and it took us over 2 hours to get in. Ridiculous. Particularly given the lack of checks that were actually being done. The organi...

Re: Fantasy Booking: An Experiment - The Forum Books BOA '19
The problem with statements like: "Stuff like Volbeat, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Ghost, Clutch - just go to Download and leave the metal festivals alone FFS" is that even if you don't like some of the bands it is a bit lacking in credibility/reality to claim that Trivium/KSE aren't metal...

Re: Fantasy Booking: An Experiment - The Forum Books BOA '19
Volbeat are good fun (normally) and massive on the continent thohg they've never really cracked the UK. I'd happily have Manowar or Helloween one night, Sodom (but they're probably not big enough), possibly Lamb of God / Machine Head. As for Gandalf's rant about Download or Reading bands - the first...
