Re: Next Announcement
Devin/Priest/Fate would be an immense headliner line-up for me but I can't see them putting on 3 genuinely good metal bands as headliners all in one year so I assume there may be some weight to the Killswitch Engage theory. I'd absolutely love to see Mercyful Fate at BS but I feel like it's gonna be...

Re: Next Announcement
Not seen them mentioned much for 2020 but Opeth have to be a strong shout for a SG slot as 2015 was their last appearance.

Re: Next Announcement
I'll be beyond disappointed if they don't pick up Mercyful Fate for next year man.

Re: Next Announcement
DL20 announced Kiss/Maiden/System of a Down headlining plus Deftones, Korn, Offpsring, Gojira, Disturbed, Alestorm and some emo bands. They are even less adventurous than Bloodstock, haha.

Re: First Timer Questions
Good selection of bands that, I will be watching all except Countless Skies (who I really like and have seen twice but clash with Powerwolf!). Based on those I would recommend checking out: ⋅ Rotting Christ [Thursday Sophie Stage, 9:45] - Pioneers of the Greek Black Metal scene, a real le...

Re: First Timer Questions
Feel free to say what those 4 bands are and I'll try and recommend some others in the lineup that you should enjoy!
As for shirts etc, Bloodstock is a really welcoming festival and no one is really going to think you don't fit in. Just take your favourite ones and wear them proudly.

Re: First Timer Questions
You might get a bit of friendly pisstaking but I've never seen anyone actually bothered by someone else's shirt at Bloodstock. I think they're just within the realms of "metal enough" that people will see it as you being a genuine fan of the band rather than having a laugh though.

Re: Obligatory weather topic
I'm a bit worried at the blanket rain/storms on Friday and high winds on Saturday to be honest. Hopefully it's not that bad in the end.

Re: 2018 Clashfinder
Turns out I've had my schedule sorted for months thanks to the accuracy of your clashfinder, guess it follows last years set times quite closely? Thanks a lot mate.

Re: 2019 Bands
Think next years headliners will be Parkway Drive, Sabaton and Slayer. PWD are an inevitability at some point. I'd have picked Sabaton to headline 2019 even without Wacken announcing them so I'd be astonished if they aren't going to be at BS next summer. And Hellfest announcing Slayer means I think ...

Re: Next announcement
Primordial are a good shout for one of the main stage slots, new album just released. How about Orange Goblin too? Also got an album dropping in the Summer and would probably fit a ~3pm mainstage slot.

Re: Next announcement
What about Morbid Angel for a SG slot? They're big enough and just released a new album, plus starting a tour in the US next month. Could be a good booking for a UK/Europe exclusive booking. Though I guess it'd be unusual for a band of their size to not play Wacken/Graspop etc if they are available ...

BS2018 Spotify Playlist
Hi ladies and gents, As per last year I've made a Spotify playlist featuring all the bands announced so far for 2018's festival. I base it on setlists from the bands' recent shows so the material included should be roughly indicative of the stuff they'll play live - I update these closer to the fest...

Re: Spotify Playlist for this year
Yeah, I made my playlist public if anyone wants to use it. I'm a bit obsessive about making playlists for festivals I attend! If it makes any difference I try and tailor each band's song inclusions to their recent set lists so the songs on the playlist will likely be at least some of those played at...
