Re: Vienna metal meeting

Went two years ago, absolutely cracking venue. It's an old slaughterhouse that now serves as an arts centre/ live venue. They'll be using the outdoor stage this year in addition to the two indoor stages. Contrary to popular opinion Vienna is no that expensive. Beer is good and reasonably priced. Am ...

Batushka are great, would love to see them. Agree they may need a new album out though, the current one has been thoroughly milked

Re: Signing Tent Announcements

More for the singing tent I think. Other than the beer list for the Serpent's Lair I think most things have been announced.

Re: Is there any lager this year?

Old Blue Last seem to have some link up with the post gig Sophie entertainment so I would not be surprised to see their lager at the festival. Not the most exciting of brews but refreshing enough for a hot festival day.

Re: Next announcement

The Sophie will now turn into the Lock In after the gigs. Hosted by Andrew O'Neill there will be different djs each night showcasing different decades. There is also talk of movies, games, record attempts and a giant can sculpture. So it's a farewell to the 4DJ's of the Apocalypse it seems. Pleased ...

Re: Serpents Lair v RIP?

Not done RIP but this will be my 4th Serpent's Lair experience. The first benefit is the car park is near the entrance (not as close it used to be but still pretty good). The queues to get in are shorter. The campsite has now been expanded meaning there is plenty of room for everyone. It has a load ...

Re: Unofficial Community Festival Guide for Newbies

I've also found self heating ration packs to be very good. You just need a little water to activate the chemicals in the bag, leave it a few minutes, and you have a piping hot meal without having to worry about a stove or plates/bowls. They're a bit pricey compared to a tin of beans, but overall mu...

Re: Next announcement

I saw the Mantas news last night very shocking but I hope he can recover fully. Real shame if Venom Inc cannot make it as their last album is a cracker. Much the better of the two Venom's in my opinion.

Re: Next announcement

Good announcement for me. Power Trip a no brainer but A Forest of Stars and Conjurer are great additions too. Heard good things about Alien Weaponry so will check them out, not heard of the other two but I am pleased with this one.

Re: Food.... The good and not so memorable....

Never had anything good bar Deli-kate in the years I went. Has anyone had any decent vegan food at all at the fest, or should I just take enough food for the weekend? Last year I went for the burgers at the Vege/Vegan stall and they were surprisingly good, I had previously been underwhelmed in year...

Re: Next announcement

I'd agree with those who are underwhelmed by the CC announcement, I like 'em but am not a huge fan. That said the rest of the line up is pretty decent for me so far and varied in terms of styles. Quite frankly Bloodstock had me at Priest, but chuck in Emperor, Doro, Watain, At The Gates, Venom Inc, ...

Re: Next announcement

Delighted to see King Leviathan make it to the Sophie stage following their superb New Blood showing a few years back. Get to see them quite a bit in Brighton, they'll put on a good show.
