Conception

The recently reformed prog metal act are yet to schedule any UK shows, so Bloodstock might be a good shout? A European headline tour is planned for Spring 2020, so I assume they'll do a few festivals afterwards.

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

Little concerned with Vicky`s Twitter is going somewhat overboard that Parkway Drive`s 2019 Bloodstock set was the best show ever?? It's getting a bit tedious isn't it? Barely any of the other bands have had a look in. I didn't watch PWD, but the general consensuses seems to be that they were not m...

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

Queensryche - so glad they finally got to play and really enjoyed them. I did find the set list a little odd (with so many old tracks) and there wasn't a lot of movement from the band, but La Torre's vocals were incredible. They were my joint set of the weekend, so its sad to see that so many other...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Actually I should add smoking in general to my 'bads'. It just seems that there is nowhere you can stand anywhere in the main festival site without someone next to you immediately lighting up a cigarette. This obviously isn't too bad outside (although I still find it annoying), but in the tents it c...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Good: - All of the bands that I was looking forward to were at least 'good', with many being much better than that. My top three sets were from Queensryche, Dee Snider, and Sabaton - Discovering a few new bands which I shall check out further in due course - The fact it took me about 10 minutes from...

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

Blind River 6/10 - Decent heavy blues rock Rotting Christ 4/10 - Enjoyed them somewhat last time they played, but did nothing for me at all on Thursday Incite 2/10 - Bellowing with the worst guitar tone I heard all weekend Control the Storm 6/10 - Thought all the pyro was a bit much for so early on ...

Re: Dimmu Borgir cancel

That's a shame, was interested to see their set.

I wonder what they'll do about that slot? I personally wouldn't mind Queensrÿche and Dee Snider both playing for slightly longer to make up for Dimmu not being there.

Fifth Angel

Recently reformed traditional US prog/power metal band who have just released their first album since 1989. Not sure if they plan to tour the album or not, but I like to see them at Bloodstock! Possibly either a very early Main Stage slot of a decent-ish Sophie Stage slot. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Re: W.A.S.P

I went to go see them on the 30 Years of Thunder tour in Bristol, it was advertised as a 2 hour show. They played for an hour (including drum solo) and then left the stage - people were pretty pissed off! I was living in the Midlands at the time and saw them in Nottingham on that tour. That show wa...

They always put on a good show, so I'd be more than up for them being booked.

Re: W.A.S.P

I'd be very surprised if they were asked back. I went to see them in Bristol last year and they cancelled the show an hour before the doors opened and never gave any reason or apology - or even acknowledged that anything had happened. I remember one of the Bloodstock team tweeted something along the...

Yeah the UK seems to be conspicuously absent from their EU tours in recent years. Would love to see them at BOA!

Queensrÿche

The band have been on top form again the past few years and are due to release a new album next year so will presumably be touring quite heavily. Would be great to have some good old-fashioned prog metal at BOA.
