Re: Where's all the jokey metal at?
Not so much metal but there are still plenty of 'jokey' death/goregrind bands out there that are decent musically but don't take themselves seriously and have some ridiculous themes, costumes etc. Gutalax and Birdflesh spring to mind  The power metal stuff really grates on me these days, I've a...

Re: Early 2000s metal radio station?
Holy shit I found it. It was Sex to 9, the presenter was called Maria.
EDIT: Looks like she still does it, I've found a Twitter! There's some shows up on Mixcloud. Shame none of the old playlists are anywhere to be found online.

You're right! It might have even been the first time I heard them on there. Still no luck and it hasn't come back to me still. I'm gonna have another attempt at digging up Google for it

Re: Mono
Went down to London to see the show with the orchestra with Alcest supporting and it was fucking unbelievable. Have seen them a few times in Leeds too and they're always top notch. Not sure Bloodstock would be the right place for them audience wise but I'd always welcome more post-rock type stuff an...

This is so good. I bought a load of merch from their US store as well. Killer band!

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)
I miss the early days of lockdown when I thought we would have gigs back by summer  Even the one I'd booked flights and a ticket for in Germany got postponed in the end, and certain areas had been having gigs on and off throughout the year. I can't see anything happening until July/August perso...

Re: Marko Hietala leaves Nightwish, Nightwish issue short response
Alternatively, does anyone else think ICS Vortex would be an incredible replacement? . No, no and thrice NO! He mangled Dimmu with his horrible warbling, and I don't want him don't the same To Nightwish. He's just about tolerable in Borknagar, but that's all he should do. Ps you're still a thing ar...

Re: Marko Hietala leaves Nightwish, Nightwish issue short response
Don't see this as even remotely the end of the band. Members come and go regularly in Nightwish and no doubt we'll continue to do so. Let Floor do Marko's vocals, she can growl with the best of them. Hope Marko can get his head together, do like his solo stuff and those Northern Kings records. I wo...

Re: Marko Hietala leaves Nightwish, Nightwish issue short response
I'm gutted, but hope the band continue without him regardless. Floor has taken them to another level and I've become even more obsessed with them over the years, if that was even possible. I think it would be better to either not replace his vocals at all and just get a new bassist, with Floor and T...

Early 2000s metal radio station?
Hi everyone! I figured this would be my best shot at someone remembering what it was called, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the long-time users of this forum know the person who used to present it as well. I was reminiscing about a radio station that a group of us found around 2002-4ish though I...

Re: Alcohol free beer?
Absolutely. Its great for people who either dont drink or just want something that isnt boozy and not juice/coke/whatever else. For pregnant women and drivers too. Bars and pubs always say its harder to make money these days but I think this is one way forward. It's a lot harder to find than you thi...
