Re: Alestorm & Gloryhammer UK Tour 2021

Well that escalated quickly  much worse has been said on here. It's only an opinion, on some bands that are naff on purpose at that, crikey.

Re: Alestorm & Gloryhammer UK Tour 2021

Pretty much the only 2 bands in the entirety of metal that I despise together one on bill. Ouch.

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

First (mild) hangover since NYE today. Uffffff. My body can tolerate alcohol so much less as I go through my 30s, I only had 6 cans of beer

Re: Luna's Call & Ba'al - Co-headliner Show

Might head over for this if I'm not at another gig. Luna's Call were awesome when they played in Leeds and I've been meaning to see Ba'al for ages. A steal at a fiver!

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

I'd love to be proven wrong, I'm missing gigs dearly, since I was 17/18 I've never gone more than a few weeks without one, but it seems awfully soon with the proposed dates that a limitless amount of people can pour into clubs and venues all over the country in 12 weeks time? I'd love to be wrong bu...

Re: Where's all the jokey metal at?

Intrigued as to why General Surgery would be considered jokey? To me they're just the same as all the Carcass-esque death/goregrind bands like Haemorrhage, Exhumed, Impaled etc. Nothing really jokey about them except the fact they wear fake blood and medical gear on stage? Saw Gout a few times back ...

I don't know Revulsion! Shall check em out. Doom tinged death metal is always ace.

Re: Sepultura UK /IRE Tour w/Crowbar & Sacred Reich

Aye I know what you mean, the hardcore vibe just aren't prominent enough for me, I like way more straight up hardcore bands than I do sludge ones overall.

Re: 2021 albums

For those that liked Frozen Soul, I would recommend these bands also, death metal has always been my favourite genre overall but recently there's been such an amazing surge in the genre I've pretty much neglected everything else. You may already know some of them but check out: Undergang, Mortiferum...

Re: Nightwish UK Tour

I think it just came down to logistics in the end, apparently its near impossible to have tours fit in a way that makes sense towards the end of the year now because venues are being bombarded with bookings for postponements. In an ideal world they would have kept it, but the domino effect of COVID ...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

Just seen the band Gutslit upload a photo of a gig they played the other day in Mumbai, hundreds of people without masks! Surreal. Seems a long way from reality yet, saying that they do have a population nearly 250x bigger than ours and have had roughly the same amount of deaths, so it would seem th...

Crowbar are definitely a sludge band as opposed to hardcore/Pantera rip-offs, not a fan though.

Re: Nightwish UK Tour

Looking forward to making as many Euro gigs as I can, wether it happens at the end of year or is postponed again. Saw them 6 times on the Decades tour and they were fucking incredible every night!

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

Just had one of the bar owners in Leeds city centre drop off a hoodie that I'd ordered online, he was saying that they've received some information from the government regarding the reopening of bars/venues etc. They're proposing July best case scenario and that will still be with limited capacities...
