Re: Computer Games Thread

And, it's kind of ruining the whole meaning of what the Humble Bundles were originally about. They were originally brought independent developers together and helped them reach a large audience without needing massive marketing campaigns or publishers. Now it's a fire sale for one particular publish...

Re: Computer Games Thread

God damn it. My friend had a spare GW2 beta invite but I am having PC issues at the moment so cannot play :( My PC cuts all video output to the monitor whenever I start up a semi-demanding game. Vindictus, Guns of Icarus, just anything remotely taxing on the hardware. The graphics card's fan goes l...

Re: Computer Games Thread

In other news, I just can't seem to get excited about Human Revolution. I think I'm just far too excited about the two week period in November to look forward to, where we'll get Uncharted 3/AC:Revelations/Skyrim. I'm the other way around - can't muster up much interest for Skyrim despite having sp...

Re: Computer Games Thread

You get better movement resolution with an analogue stick, and the ability to move and look in different directions helps a bit. But primarily the shooter games are about aiming rather than moving, in that the accuracy of your aiming has a much higher effect on the game, which is what makes it inter...

Re: Computer Games Thread

If I hadn't modded Oblivion ASAP I would have lost hours of my life to scrolling through almost infinitely long menus, and that was only there because they needed big text to work on a TV for consoles. It is a matter of taste, but then so are most of these things - lots of people I know love shooter...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Skyrim [...] developed by studios who prioritise the PC experience. Oblivion was painful to play on the PC without UI mods though. The XBox layout was plain to see. PC games ported to consoles (Deus Ex, Dragon Age) are comparably worse than their full blooded PC counterparts. These days you rarely ...

Picking up the Augmented Edition from Game at 9, then it'll be straight to the train station with my PC, then off to Telford for i43!

Came here to see if anybody else was awaiting Deus Ex 3 as much as I am. I don't have a PC powerful enough to run it yet, mind...

Random comments to no-one in particular: I used to have a Razer Diamondback. The first one broke within days, as the mouse wheel disconnected from the axis. Swapped it for another, which worked fine for about a year, then the left button broke, occasionally double clicking when pressed once, or trig...

It's great that you two are very happy together, and long may it continue, but next time Swallow The Sun play in Nottingham, can you plaase not spend half of the set kissing each other in the f...
