Re: The Meaning of Metal

It's music.

That's all.

Re: Next Announcement

So, they deleted my account for posting that screenshot. If it's any consolation I doubt that was the intent. The 12 year old that they employ to run the website probably clicked the wrong button. Given how the last few forum "upgrades" went, the time it took to figure out how HTTPS works...

Re: Next Announcement

Yeah, but lets not forget that a lot of Americans seem to think that bullets will protect them from the virus, and that by being told to keep a 2m distance from each other their god-given 'Murican Freedoms are being stolen. We can only hope that, if the lockdown continues for a prolonged period over...

Re: Next Announcement

From what others have described about their twitter account, it seems Vicky will be determined to press ahead regardless, but if bands start pulling out, or Showsec say nay, or the vendors can't get staff to run the stalls... it's hard to see the fest going ahead in that instance. A lot of people se...

Re: Coronavirus

So my plan is to avoid people for a couple of months and then try my hardest to catch it when it's warmer and hopefully less nasty. So come summer I'm gonna kiss as many people as possible. I'll probably end up in prison for assault but at least I'm more likely to catch the virus in a crowded priso...

Re: Next Announcement

I'm a bit of a stat nerd, so far my average rating of the bands I've listened to is 5.9/10. That breaks down to: - 10 bands I'll actively avoid (rated <5) - 12 I'll stop to watch if I'm not in a rush to get somewhere else (rated 5-6) - 17 which I'll actively try to see (rated 7-8) - 2 which I'm guar...

Re: Advice for first timers

I wouldn't worry about the campsites being full. They didn't get anywhere close to that for the past couple of years. You'll be able to see into the Valhalla and Asgard camps as you queue to get into the festival, so you'll be able to gauge whether there's enough space in those for your group. If th...

Re: Advice for first timers

How much is beer and food generally?(and tabs!) I can't comment on the beer, and I don't think tabs are a thing, but food prices vary from stall to stall. Expect to pay between £5 and £10 for most stuff. What to expect from the main arena and campgrounds? Not sure what you're asking here, but here'...

Re: worst band on the lineup ?

It's early days for me, as I've only just started listening to RockSoc playlist and rating the bands based on my tastes, but what the actual fuck are Skindred? :hurl:

Moonsorrow are playing Rockharz Open Air (Germany) early July, and Månegarm Open Air (Sweden) late August, which leaves a neat little hole in their festival schedule... :eyes:

Re: Next Announcement

I also lurk unless there's something I particularly want to say.

It's worth noting that there's usually ~200 "guests" online at any given point, and while some of these will be search engine bots (spiders), some will be lurkers.

The forums are pretty dead right now though.
