Re: Next Announcement
From the announcement it looks like Merciful Fate have been confirmed as a 2022 headliner, so it's not all bad news if you were looking forward to them headlining Bloodstock. From the dropouts so far, Butcher Babies are the only ones I was remotely interested in seeing. I'm not interested in seeing ...

Re: Next Announcement
Hope it's not Opeth again.
Edit: Although... it is the 20th anniversary of Blackwater Park this year, so if they play that album from start to finish, it might actually be worth watching them live again.

Re: Next Announcement
Vicky has somewhat confirmed the fest is going ahead: https://twitter.com/vickyhungerford/sta ... 03680?s=20
I suspect an 'official' announcement is in the pipeline.

Re: Advice for first timers
Also for dealing with cold, I got a silk sleeping bag liner a few years ago which works wonders for keeping the heat in. Packs up really small and hardly weighs anything at all, so I take it with me whenever I go camping these days.

Re: Album of the Year - ROUND 2
Did you miss the votes on page 1? Two "3 points" for The Ocean on there. I'll do a recount. EDIT: shit, that's where 90% of the votes were, so I was almost finished totting up. My calculations: 23 Enslaved - Utgard 20 Demons & Wizards - III 19 Dark Tranquillity - Moment 17 Alesto...

Re: Album of the Year - ROUND 2
I've only listened to two albums on the list, and I don't rate the Alestorm one at all, sooo:
1. Dark Tranquillity ~ Moment
That's all.
Will update if I get around to listening to the others.

Re: Next Announcement
Latest update I've seen: But as the summer progresses and vaccination levels rise, events will become more viable. “The vaccine’s rolling out at an incredibly good speed – we’re quite confident that we’re going ahead,” Greenfield says of Bloodstock, which is due to begin 11 August. “We can adapt so ...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.
Haven't listened to Bodom in ages (wasn't even aware they'd broken up until I read the news about Laiho), but I used to be really into their music. 41 is no age to die at. RIP.

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread
I've started drinking more varieties of rum. Brewdog's 'hundred cuts' is pretty nice. My homebrew mead production died down after I moved house at the start of the first lockdown -- had to bottle ~8 gallons before moving, so I didn't have many bottles to decant into -- but I've started ramping up pr...

Although parking isn't explicitly mentioned in the 2020 cancellation announcement, it's stated that tickets for 2020 will be valid next year.

Re: Amenities improvements/requests
Making the portaloo areas less mudbathy would be great. Never seen any point in showers at a festival though -- baby wipes, dry shampoo, and deodorant is all you need. Bin bags with a deposit scheme could be a good idea. A lot of stalls already accept card payment, more of that is great. However, Bl...

Re: Next Announcement
Happy with Dimmu. However, I'd rather listen to nails down a chalkboard than KD "singing", so I'll give MF a wide berth.
