Re: Geoff Tate... shit live?

He's a lot better now than he was towards the end of his Queensryche tenure.
Had no interest in him after that, but he was playing close to where I live doing Mindcrime in full a couple of years back so I went along - was far better than I was expecting.

Re: Next Announcement

Looks like everyone aged under 50 will have to wait a further month for their first injection due to a major shortage. There's also now some tit for tat arguing between the UK and EU on supply. That June 21st date is starting to look more unlikely. no it's not. by Easter, the age groups responsible...

I hadn't even realised they were on the bill, I got recommended a song of theirs on Spotify a couple of months back and really enjoyed what I'd heard.

Re: Next Announcement

Supposedly the government are saying that every adult in the UK will have their first jab by the end of July, which surely bodes well for Bloodstock if true. Doesn't necessarily mean much though, especially if travel corridors aren't open by then. They said everyone would be OFFERED a jab by end of...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

I'm not confident they even know how long the covid antibodies last following two doses of the vaccine. of course they don't, they literally started testing them a few months ago. however, they are very confident that they provide at least 12 months worth of immunity. it really doesn't matter if we...

Re: Next Announcement

just to throw some numbers out there, a quick Google suggests there are 55 million adults in the UK. It's just shy of 29 weeks to Bloodstock, which means that we would need to vaccinate around 1.9 million people per week to have given everyone at least one dose by then. we're currently well over tha...

that must've been absolute bedlam

for me, probably seeing Sabaton at the Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton. it was already a pretty small venue for them in fairness, but it was great to see them in such a tiny room.

Re: So much for Iced Earth...

Iced Earth’s Jon Schaffer has turned himself in to authorities after participating in the Jan. 6 pro-Trump mob riot at the United States Capitol Building as Electoral College votes for now President-elect Joe Biden were being certified. WishTV reports the FBI confirmed Schaffer turned himself in at...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

if (and obviously it's a big if) the government hit their target of vaccinating 2 million people per week, that's 56 million people by the end of July. at that point transmission should be pretty much non-existent and it will be hard to justify keeping restrictions in place. as you say, it's the int...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

My sister pointed something out to me the other day that I hadn't realised. Not only do we need to vaccinate the whole country, we have to keep doing it. I have to have a new flu jab every year so this will be the same. Hopefully as the infrastructure gets better this will become easier to do. it'l...
