Re: Use of Referendums

Referendums should, broadly speaking, (virtually) never be binding. Legally binding or not, it's virtually impossible for a government to press ahead with a policy when the majority has voted for something else. Cameron could have said "yeah, but it was only advisory - we'll stay in the EU&quo...

Oddly, I was talking to him about that at Bloodstock. He just says he can't be arsed with the forum any more.

Re: Parkway Drive

Was a great headline show and great songs. I'll happily concede that they put on a decent show. But it was not in any way filled with great songs. As I keep saying, a spectacle and on stage energy isn't enough to make a good live performance. You need good music too, and on that score they failed m...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

The good : * The bands. A much better mainstage lineup for my tastes than in many previous years (although the lower stages weren't as good for me this year). * The people. Always good to catch up with those I generally only see once a year. The bad : * The cups. I saw them and thought it was fanta...

Re: Bloodstcok Bingo - All new 2020 edition

A pint is not sufficient motivation for me to hope that I win. I hope most of these don't happen. But I fear they will:

At The Gates
Beast In Black
Code Orange
Dakesis
Gloryhammer
Hatebreed
Mercyful Fate
Opeth
Sodom
The Vintage Caravan

Re: Bloodstock Bingo 2019 edition

As per previous years, a pint is on offer to the winner - since I've been doing this no one has ever believed this is a genuine offer... It certainly has been. I can't remember who did it at the start. Noodle, maybe? A few years ago, I took over. I've certainly bought a couple of people pints when ...

Re: Dragonforce UK Tour

The Forum does seem to get bands that looks too big for - Skid Row, Quireboys etc. I've seen bands in there with it being a third full, so presume it doesn't cost much to hire compared to other places. Correct. It's sufficiently cheap that I've considered putting bands on there myself! It's nearly ...

Re: Clashfinder

It would be nice to have the VIP stage added to this:

Friday:
The Brothers Keg
Fury, performing as "Heavy Duty", after Sabaton

Saturday:
Disgraceland
Slay Duggee
Gorilla, after Parkway Drive

Sunday:
The Lost Boys
Forged In Black
