Re: Sabaton 2020

It's a shame that Sabaton aren't doing massive UK tours anymore, saw them locally a few years back in a venue which holds 500...but the bigger a band get, the bigger their productions and stage shows get too, if you want that full experience then this is inevitable. Sabaton are probably in that inbe...

Re: Next Announcement

I imagine that Manowar are right out of contention already now ? They've never been in contention, their demands are way beyond what Bloodstock could afford or even want to bow down to. From Simon Hall's social media posts it's reasonable to presume the two have spoken before but got nowhere near a...

Re: 2019 Albums

According to my RYM account, I'm up to 98 albums released in 2019 so far. My loose top 25 (to be reviewed at the end of the year) is currently - Lots I haven't heard there, which gives me stuff to check out as I've been struggling to get excited about much this year. I didn't like Soen or Devin and...

Re: Next Announcement

But you could put it the other way. Which band has songs that people know? I would probably know all of Metal Churches songs but wouldn't know one of Tesseract's. Would Rainbow headline? They've not released an album since the year dot. When was the last album anyone bought by the Scorpions? I have...

Re: Next Announcement

I think you mean Friday, but either way that's simply not true. Powerwolf, Bodom and Soulfly all sold more than Tesseracts last album. Metal Church's previous album also got to number 25 in the chart, which should in theory place them a couple of slots higher on the lineup too. :? Metal Church have...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Haven't posted in here for ages so... Game of Thrones has been excellent so far. First episode was a gentle reintroduction, second the calm before the storm and third FUCK ME SIDEWAYS Doctor Who - couple of decent episodes towards the end of the season but overall this was probably the worst since t...

Re: movies

I much prefer the MCU films to the Dark Knight ones tbh. The third Nolan Batman film was quite ropey. They're just so much more fun and I like an injection of humour in a superhero film. But just diving in with Avengers 1 & 2, leaving out all the films before and in between, is bound to leave yo...

Re: 2019 Albums

Still struggling to find much metal that really excites me this year. Queensryche is the best of them although I'm warming to the Aephanemer album. The Manowar EP is the best thing they've done in a while and I love the new Sabaton track. But mostly it's just been stuff that's OK/forgettable/harmles...

Re: Manowar - First the good news...

Me and at least two others were keen but wouldn't pay that price in the end. £50 and would have bought one day they went on sale. Looking at the setlist didn't help either, not bothered with anything after Kings of Metal, bar the song WOTW, and so it didn't cater for me. Hoping Ross The Boss does a...

Re: Manowar - First the good news...

As for them coming back to the UK...they're popular enough but need to learn they can't charge arena prices for academy shows. Fifty or sixty quid and they'd have probably sold the place out. I knew lots of people who would have liked to have gone but just dug their heels in the ground over the pric...

Re: Manowar - First the good news...

Joey's speech was as cringe worthy as every other speech I've seen him give. The man's a dick but it doesn't stop me loving Manowar! I refused to buy a t-shirt at that price, the ticket rip off was bad enough. If you've any love at all for Into Glory Ride and Hail to England I urge you to pick up th...

Re: Manowar - First the good news...

Saturday night was great and much busier than I expected (apparently the Friday was woefully under attended). It was pretty rammed on the floor itself although there was plenty of room if you stood towards the back or sides of the venue. Forty quid for a bloody t shirt though, the bootleggers were d...
