Re: Next Announcement
Looks like everyone aged under 50 will have to wait a further month for their first injection due to a major shortage. There's also now some tit for tat arguing between the UK and EU on supply. That June 21st date is starting to look more unlikely.

Re: Next Announcement
But I do hear you, there are those that don't want it to end. From what I can see, the furlough lovers watching netflix all day, trying to get me to play some online game with them while I'm doing their work. While I understand furlough types have their own problems frankly I'm envious of the paid ...

Re: Next Announcement
The main reason I remain concerned is the amount of bands and ticket holders who travel to the event from overseas. At the moment large scale events are touted to be happening by June 21st at the earliest but even if things do go according to plan there's no guarantee they'll have gone so well in ot...

Re: Next Announcement
Mercyful Fate were the main draw for me this year but Kreator as a replacement is as good as it gets. One of my favourite bands and fantastic live. Sad to lose Sacred Reich but not fussed about anyone else that's bowed out.
That said, I remain convinced this isn't going to happen this year anyway!

Re: 2021 albums
I think the awkwardness of vinyl is one of the main attractions tbh, ie the old school cinematic experience, I've got Cradle's remastered Cruelty on double red vinyl, and it's constant flipping and swapping with only 3 songs on each side, but that's part of the fun eh? You've clearly got a differen...

Yeah, you've gone full blown crazy here. Solstafir are one of the most interesting and exciting bands of the 21st century for me. Adore the new album.

Enslaved winning show's you've all got taste. I think. Because that snoozefest of a Demons and Wizards album in second place suggests you don't

Re: 2021 albums
I can't justify the price of vinyl, 20 quid for most new releases at least. Add to that I'm a lazy bastard and can't be arsed to keep getting up and turning the things over. I still buy CDs of albums I really like, about a dozen to fifteen a year nowadays, but generally rip them to flac and never to...

Re: 2021 albums
The new Aspyhx album is really good. I'm not easily impressed by death metal nowadays but this ticked the boxes. Frozen Soul is pretty decent, Therion is boring, Dragony mediocre, Nervosa nothing I haven't heard a million times before and Wardruna ok if I'm in the mood for it. Here completes my revi...

Re: Bloodstock Forum Album of the Year 2020
Imperial Triumphant: Alphaville This one has appeared in quite a few EOY lists and I've tried listening to it 2 or 3 times now. "Impenetrable" is a word I'd use to describe it. I don't think I'm too far away in calling this avant-garde jazz-metal and who knew that was such a popular sub-g...

Re: 2021 Bands Ranking List
For me the big draws are Mercyful Fate, Sacred Reich, Dark Tranquillity (although they've gone through some pretty big line up changes in the last few years), Acid Reign, Gloryhammer and Vio-lence (although some of their politics have put me off them of late) and Saxon. I'd watch Priest but it's not...

Re: 2021 Bands Ranking List
Sacred Reich - It's all about that album I owned in the mid 90s, Heal. Christ, really? That album was bloody awful, check out their early stuff! There's pretty much no way they'll play anything off of Heal, it'll all be from Ignorance, Surf Nicaragua and The American Way with a sprinkling of stuff ...
