Re: What made you Lol Today?

The reason Easter always changes is because it's the Sunday after the full moon between the 22nd and 25th of April. You have the Council Of Nicea to thank for that. If they're going to make up a date for Jesus' death they could've just had it coincide with the spring equinox. Just catching up but h...

Re: Computer Games Thread

6 hours into Fallout 4 and loving it, though my laptop struggles a lot in combat scenes.

Eyeing up parts for a new PC. Reckon a GTX 980 will last me a good while.

Re: movies

Watching Alien Resurrection. All the aliens are sopping wet with slime. Like they saw the aliens with a bit of water on them in 1 & 2 and just thought that was how they worked. I didn't mind Resurrection, on it's own its an interesting movie, as long as you don't try to compare it to the previo...

I wouldn't say they're utterly hopeless. It's drivable, and even moreso with winter tyres.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

3 series is rwd. You'll be one of those idiots that have to abandon their cars even after a slight dusting of snow. Better off with a Passat or a like minded animal. I had a 170 bhp Skoda Superb which isnt all that special for an interior/exterior and if you are a badge snob, but it was no slouch. ...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Foresters are very good solid cars, the suspension is a bit spongey though as it's kinda a semi-off-road car.

Another option is the BMW 3 series - http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... 0177924700

Re: Trivial Grumblings

I know I've been banging on about wanting a faster car for a while now, but it's only now I'm starting to get a slightly better budget for a half decent car that Nicki tells me leather seats make her travel sick. It turns out it's incredibly difficult to find a manual estate that gets to 0-60 under...

Re: A free-for-all thread

Academic knowledge is worth very little in IT these days, unless you're going into research.

A PhD that takes you 5 years to complete means 5 years lost practical experience that you'll need when applying for jobs.
