Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
I have to say though, the food overall was pretty good all round. I was tempted by those Gallop's Farm places, but I did wonder if they were "gourmet" places in disguise. But everywhere I ate was lovely, no regrets. Although I did leave the burrito place until the sunday night. Yes,...

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
The Good My wi-fi signal jammer working well all weekend. My giant magnet that I used to drain the portable phone chargers whenever possible. Seriously, if you can't do without more than texting for a couple of days at a festival you have a problem, or are a teenager, but either way you need a slap...

Re: Rate the bands
From his Guardian review, I wonder how re-freshed Dom Lawson was: Rob Zombie's 'indecent amount of pyro'? Sharon Den Adels' collection of hats...? He either was not @ Bloodstock or spent all w/e in the VIP bar. One year I overheard 2 drunken journalists discussing how to rate a band unashamedly adm...

Re: Rate the bands
When you have a live orchestra you still are as inflexible as if you would be performing against a sequenced track. When you have breaks (for crowd interaction or whatever) in the song you enqueue the sequences, and you have your techs understand your cues to start the next sequence. It would be si...

Re: Mainstage Sound
I thought that the main stage sound was much better this year: It was clearer The muddy booming from previous years had gone The speaker rig looked different this year When Opeth were playng the sound quality was superb. I would have liked some real low end welly though, but you only seem to get ult...

Re: Rate the bands
I didn't realise the whole PA had gone off at the same time, every time. This sounds exactly like a power outage on a generator's circuitbreaker. But as I already explained - if WT were using Ableton to run all the lighting and other systems as well (which is quite normal these days) - it sounds li...

Re: VIP 2015 Experiences ?
I think you're being pretty critical to be honest. Dunno where abouts you camped or what time you or "your neighbours" arrived but there was a fair bit of room we could see from where we were pitched and they extended the VIP area into the car park late on the Thursday which whilst heavil...

VIP 2015 Experiences ?
I love Bloodstock VIP so pls take my points as 'constructive criticsm' as I am keen to ensure that the VIP experience is even better. What was others' experience ? Limited beer choice @ the VIP bar – @ 1 point only 3 cask ales were available; I get the impression that some of the casks were never ta...

Re: Rate the bands
I would be interested in your source of information ? Timing can never be too perfect & 1/10th second is a relatively long time; even old amps were designed to cope with full power demands within microseconds. Are you seriously telling me that Within Temptation are too much for the Bloodstock PA...

Re: Rate the bands
I agree they were miming 0/10 - anyone who still uses CDs will have experienced a scratched/damaged disc stop dead @ the same point. Ice Queen stopped dead, @ exactly the same point, @ 4 attempts ! The previous & subsequent 'tracks' played fine; it is dead easy to switch the audio feed from the...

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
There were several free drinking water points around the arena & campsites; all you needed was an empty container.

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
GOOD: Main Stage Sound – different sound system gave a much clearer sound; gone was the muddy booming from previous years. Could have done with some real low end welly though. Opet h – outstanding performance & sound from this most accomplished band. Enslaved – good despite their kit issues. Bh...

Re: Rate the bands
A good festival, my favourites being Ne Obliviscaris (8), Godsized (9), Orange Goblin (9), Death DTA (8) and Overkill (7). The worst was surely Within Temptation (1), not because of their technical faults (I had left in disgust by then), but because Sharon was miming the large majority of the set t...
