Re: Next Announcement
Chuffed to bits to get Mercyful Fate. Can't wait to see the King back at Bloodstock. I am really surprised by how many people seem to be uninterested in one of metal's true pioneers?
Holosade
Old school British thrash/speed merchants from the North East are back in action and sounding better than ever. Would be a cracking shout for a mid afternoon Sophie stage slot.

Re: Next Announcement
Blind Guardian in any shape or form would be wonderful, but one band who I think deserve to headline Bloodstock who never have are Anthrax. Special guests three times and the highlight of the day every single time.
Bütcher
Personally I think they'd be an incredible choice to join the lineup for next year, their second album "666 Goats Carry My Chariot" is the best speed metal record I've heard in many a year and they look like they'd be a real fun live act. I think they'd go down a storm and I know from inte...

Re: Next Announcement
Amid all this doom and gloom, I have to be honest and say I am pretty happy with this announcement. I like each and every one of them. Cracking announcement for me.

Re: Next Announcement
Never heard of any of them ! I do have a massive blind spot regarding death metal though. Quick googling suggests I'll check out The Lazys, 2 Headed Snake, Boss Keloid Skeletal Remains (death metal) The Lazys (some kind of hard rock band ?) 3 Headed Snake (I have no idea ? (MA thinks power metal) B...

Re: Next Announcement
Slayer were brilliant in Newcastle last night. I really don't understand why so many people are against them playing BOA. Saying that they've played twice in the last 5 years so I would perhaps rather have someone else this year. I can see it being Lamb of God, a band I don't personally like but who...

Re: Next Announcement
Although I'm only familiar with a couple of Scorpions songs (recommendations for their best albums to start with would be appreciated!) this is a great booking for the festival and they've been requested a lot. Cool to see that Mikkey Dee is drumming for them now too! Hopefully we'll get a heavier ...

Re: BLOODSTOCK 2019 SUNDAY HEADLINER
Any from Manowar, Slayer, Rainbow, Scorpions or Helloween Pumpkins Unite would do just fine for me. Megadeth only headlined in 2017 so I'd rather wait another couple of years before bringing them back. What about the return of Alice Cooper? It's been a few years since he last played and he's still o...

Re: Next Announcement
Sabaton are one of those bands who have been fantastic every time I've seen them. I for one will be most pleased to see them back at Bloodstock in a richly deserved headline role.

Re: BOA 2018: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
Oh and I almost forgot. What the hell was that The Lost band playing in VIP on Saturday? What a load of old shit. Have they ever actually heard the songs they were trying to play? They were called The Lost Boys. Brule were originally meant to be playing in that slot, but one of the members ended up...

Re: Types of Bands like Mr. Big
Yeah - every few years there's a band that seems to play all the metal festivals - Europe, Quo, Journey, Thunder, Quireboys have all done the rounds. We've had bands like them before and Eric Martin performed here with Avantasia. I don't think there's a massive difference between Mr Big and say UFO...

Re: Types of Bands like Mr. Big
Would never have considered Mr Big glam, but sure. I think there's a market for having more rock-sounding acts at the festival, but preferably ones that do cross into almost metal territory: Accept, Rose Tattoo and the likes. Accept are definitely metal for me. I agree though, it would be nice to h...
