Re: Download Festival 2020

Copping has said on twitter that KSE won't clash with Maiden and that Disturbed won't clash with Korn or SOAD Works out pretty decently then I'm not so bothered by the prospect of missing Killswitch as I saw them four times with Maiden in 2018 and once last year. I've seen Sepultura less often and ...

Re: Download Festival 2020

Odd they're still doing the Legacy Of The Beast setlist, as it will be over 2 years old by then. I think this was inevitable when it started. The Maiden England tour went on for three years and made them a lot of money, so it shouldn't really be surprising that they're doing the same with Legacy of...

Re: Download Festival 2020

Do Maiden normally demand that nobody else is playing at the same time they are? At festivals I wouldn't usually bother to pay attention to who else might be on at the same time as Maiden. The Download day tickets are indeed expensive, but compared to arena shows they're arguably a lot better value ...

Re: Download Festival 2020

Alter Bridge subheadling one of the days was inevitable and welcome. Saturday looks great now, but I bet Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Funeral For A Friend and Sepultura will all clash.

Re: Wacken 2020

Headlining twice in three years is a bit too much to be fair. I'm glad Bloodstock would never book the same headliner twice in three years.

Re: Wacken 2020

Borknagar! Plus Avantasia and Lacuna Coil. This is shaping up to be yet another great Wacken lineup. Does Wacken ever have bad line-ups? It appears that all the speculation about Blind Guardian with a full orchestra was a load of rubbish then! It was based on Hansi saying "see you next year&qu...

Re: 2019 Gigs

How many gigs did you go to this year? 18 (if Power Metal Quest Fest Counts). Mainly in London, but also a few in Birmingham and one each in Nottingham and Montreal. How many/which festivals did you go this year? 2 (if Power Metal Quest Fest counts, the other was Bloodstock) What were your top 3 gi...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

My last two gigs were British Lion in Islington on Friday and Alter Bridge at the O2 Arena last night. Both were good gigs. The support for British Lion were pretty decent and the main act themselves are much better live than in the studio. I got one of Steve Harris' wristbands after years of trying...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

No response to the election result then? I'm assuming you're all still in shock or in a state of depression.

It looks like the Labour/Green coalition predicted by this forum's voting intentions was way off the mark.
