Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

It would only make a difference if that female leader is Diane Abbott, or perhaps Emily Thornberry.

Re: Next Announcement

Problem with some bands (BG, Epica) is that they're bigger in Europe so will get better offers on the mainland to consider in a crowded Euro festival calendar. A smaller festival could be in a worse position to make an attractive offer. Fair point. I just took the first two bands who came into my h...

Re: Next Announcement

I feel the organisers are turning in a different direction to the BOA i used to enjoy attending. If BOA continues down this route, does anyone reckon that other smaller Metal festivals (such as Amplified, if it returns) might decide to upscale and book the bands who have been ignored by Bloodstock ...

Re: Next Announcement

The Wishlist hath been the quietest year I have ever seen it, whether people dont have the ideas, dont feel listen to, feel its a foregone conclusion, bored, im not sure I don't think the people booking the bands may much attention to the forum wishlist, so I don't think there's much point requesti...

Re: Iron Maiden 2020

No, although it probably does. I was more thinking that taking out Killswitch Engage or Funeral For A Friend makes the tour more likely to be given a positive build up by the likes of Kerrang! and makes them more likely to sell extra tickets by appealing to fans of those bands, rather than just to ...

Re: Iron Maiden 2020

I'm surprised by that, they were everywhere. I managed to catch them about 8 times without trying  What happened to As Lions? I remember a single or EP release then dropped off the radar, unless it's just passed me by :? I've managed to see The Raven Age six times now. :( They keep opening for...

Re: Iron Maiden 2020

- Of course WT/AB and Disturbed are an improvement, as you point out half the bands were small bands who only got the gig through connections to Maiden (can add Rise to Remain to the list). Fortunately I didn't have the opportunity to see Rise to Remain before they disbanded. I suppose Austin Dicki...

Re: Iron Maiden 2020

Not directed at me I know, but I think these could work better: Maiden- Mastodon- Epica Maiden- Opeth- Delain Maiden- Clutch- Vintage Caravan Bands are near similar size (in the UK anyway, don't know the European scene as well) who would appeal to Maiden's audience and give some smaller bands expos...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - Beyond the Black in Manchester....the crowed was probably only 30% creepy weirdos coming to stare at the singer and not move a muscle all night. To be fair, she is lovely. :P The crowds for bands like Beyond the Black do confuse me a bit. They're super Poppy, so I'd expect them to have...

Iron Maiden 2020

A bunch of shows around Europe were announced yesterday as part of Legacy of the Beast III (they're milking this for all it's worth) and much to everybody's shock... THEY ACTUALLY HAVE SOME DECENT SUPPORT! :o 05–07/06 Tampere, FINLAND – Rockfest 09/06 Bremen, GERMANY – Buergerweide (Disturbed & ...
