Re: movies

I feel like I've not posted for ages.
I've basically just been watching (and ranking) Fritz Lang films, and looking more into Weimar era films.

edit: How long has the forum done that weird preview thing?

Re: A free-for-all thread

Nope no 'approved suppliers' stated. Damage insurance was never offered to me, in fact it was crossed out on the form when I signed it. The van hire and money was all arranged through the band management so I assumed everything had been sorted, and just signed where I was asked to when I picked up ...

Re: A free-for-all thread

So... may have just accidentally stumbled upon Paul Gregory's home address at work. We've been given a grid reference for an accident location. That exact location is a driveway for a house with text saying 'Bloodstock Festivals' hovering above it. When I've looked into it, it's Paul's House, which ...

Re: movies

Finally got round to Lost River.

I quite liked it in spite of it's flaws. I reckon it'd be up in the top 10 this yearf or me.

Re: movies

I appreciate Jupiter Ascending is in the list by default, but The Avengers? I get different people like different things, but that was almost unbearable and I am genuinely perplexed by anyone enjoying it. :P I loved Age of Ultron, enormous fun. To be honest I've enjoyed all of Marvel Studio's comic...

Re: movies

I've only seen 12 movies with 2015 UK release dates so far this year. I'd rank them thusly 1. Whiplash ***** 2. Birdman ***** 3. Mad Max: Fury Road ****1/2 4. Kingsman ****1/2 5. Avengers: Age of Ultron **** 6. Shaun the Sheep **** 7. Ant-Man **** 8. Ex Machine **** 9. The Theory of Everything ***1...

Re: movies

Nearly 3/4 of the way through the year - what's been everyone's favourites so far? I have Whiplash and Birdman fighting out for top spot, then Ex Machina and Kingsman tussling over 3rd. Not sure after that, though A Most Violent Year would be quite high - similarly Enemy, Avengers 2, Jurassic World...

Re: Three peaks in three weeks

We made it yesterday. The views were great, at least for the 5 meters in front of us that we could see haha. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xft1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/11165275_387970464731919_6631899333921749158_n.jpg?oh=2832e51b874ed543dfead1b9abd25371&oe=55C3983B&__gda__=144...

Re: movies

Amazingly I think we agree for once. Though I'd argue that once they came out of the wormhole was were it stopped being good. All the stuff on the other planets was just dull, and it almost felt like it was going to redeem itself before it just gets silly with the book case thing, and the coda.

Re: Three peaks in three weeks

Unfortunately we didn't quite make it to the top. The combination of strong wind, low cloud/rain, and snow meant that we decided it was too dangerous to go on. We could no longer see the path, and at ~860 metres, with another 100 or so to go, visibility was so poor that we couldn't actually see this...

Re: A free-for-all thread

Mine was awful. I'd regularly wake up with damp patches of pus by my arm, or I'd be playing football and the friction of material on skin would break the skin and mixture of blood and pus would stick to my shirt, and I'd have to peel it off again afterwards and it'd bleed again. I'm sure it went on ...
