Actually, coming from a school where we only had one multi-skilled teacher (and he was awesome), I wonder if kids do generally get on better with teachers who are multiskilled If it counts, our P.E. teacher taught us PSHE, specifically the sex education bits. No one liked him. There could be a rule...
