Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Clean diet, plenty of water, with some High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) 3-4 times a week. And no carbs after 6pm...

As simple as that. Sticking to those rules is another matter all together....

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Right, guys. I need to start exercising so I can make sure that I don't get all morbidly obese or anything. But I hate exercise with a passion. Any suggestions on what's a sensible activity I can start doing regularly that won't make me resent not spending my time playing Mega Drive instead? If you...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Whilst I'm pretty happy with myself atm, I've decided to try and aim for a 6-pack. It's not an easy goal, and I know that for some it's a lot harder than others just due to fat distribution and metabolism but I really want to give it a try. Anyone got any tips or things they feel like sharing? It d...

Re: movies

12 Years a Slave, for me, is pretty groundbreaking. One of the most visceral and actually upsetting films I've seen in a long time. Rarely does a movie illicit such a response. To top off the incredible story, the cast's entire acting was superb, especially the lead - who I'm certain will win numero...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Yeah the single reason I have a gym membership is because I'd never be able to afford to get that kinda weight in plates at home. Or have the room... Also intend to attempt some Olympic lifts next year like the clean and jerk, anyone on here got experience of those? Look scary on the old joints...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Been doing the 5x5 workout for the last 5 weeks and have already seen a significant increase in strength. Highly recommend for anyone looking to increase strength in a short amount of time. Managed to do 5 reps of 100kg bench, 5 of 160kg deadlift and 5 of 150kg squat whereas this time a month ago I ...

Re: The Q&A thread

Here's my question.

Why did it take me so long to actually get around to blocking Killing_time?

Re: Computer Games Thread

As good a place as any to ask. I've decided not to get one of the new consoles and instead focus my efforts on building a PC to replace my dying laptop. Now I have little to no knowledge of how I'd go about finding the right components, as from a simple google search, there seems to be a huge amount...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Breaking bad has been set up superbly for the end episode. Next monday, annoyingly enough, is the day I start my new job. Gonna have to wait all day for my last ever fix :( Anyone have any theories as to whats gonna happen? I'm particularly interested in what'll happen to Jesse. Hope he kills Walt s...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Also, question to peoples. When doing a seated leg curl, my right hip starts hurting suddenly midway during reps. I'm only doing 56kg atm on them (done higher before with no trouble), nothing is damaged so no idea why it's straining suddenly only on that machine (and yes I'm doing the machine prope...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Having not taken the gym all too seriously for a while, my one rep max on the 3 major lifts has dropped by about 10kg on each. Bench - 115kg/ Squat - 160kg/ Deadlift - 190kg. Really need to get on top of eating properly and loads again. So hard and expensive though :( Current weight is around 85kg a...
