Yeah that and that, saw Sirenia a couple of years and and they were dull AF, and I've massively gone off Leaves's Eyes since the Liv saga.

No idea who the other 3 bands are.

HE are far far better than Cradle.

They're nowhere near as good, they just rip off their ideas. Hence one became superstars and the other will always be a pub band.

Re: Best Lyricists

The dude from Clawfinger must be up there, purely for this wonderful lyrics to Rosegrove on their first album: "Do this, do that, come here, you twat" Or let's not forget Tuomas Holopanien, the Nightwish sounds don't have great lyrics these days, but the first album was full of beauties: &...

Re: Tarja UK Shows - March 2020

Only ever seen Tarrrrrrr-reeeeee-ya once (at Hellfest) and she was spectacularly underwhelming, her solo stuff sounded bland and forgettable and she did a medley of NW songs that sounded nowhere near as good as when the real band does them. No thanks. Oh no it's March, so she can't do her covers of ...

Re: Within Temptation/Evanescence

I find WT less engaging live than they used to be, the audience is static these days and mainly full of hipsters and NME readers, every song is accompanied by a OTT video that distracts from the bands performance, and they'll only play maybe one song each from Mother Earth and The Silent Force and n...

Re: Parkway Drive

Hahaha piss comedy, very good. Evil scarecrow drew one of the largest crowds of the festival and everyone was enjoying much like Skindred a couple of years before. For most metal a sense of humour is needed to be fair Being able to write a song that isn't utter dogshit helps too. Does anyone actual...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last: it was a Whitfield Crane solo gig of all things....didn't play any UKJ, only his solo stuff and a couple of Life Of Agony covers. Also playing some Judas Priest and AC/DC covers, and was joined by Pat Cash of all people onstage (yes, the Wimbledon 1987 winner). Next: Sisters Of Mercy at the Ro...

Re: Max & Iggor Cavalera - Return Beneath Arise - Dec 2019

If it was the first two albums I would be interested. Can't be arsed with two albums I thought were poor at the time and haven't really improved with age. You crack me up. I do like the first 2 albums....but the idea of Max and Igor doing a Morbid Visions/Schizophrenia tour is completely mental. I ...

London standing was all sold out, so we're having a weekend trip to Nottingham for this.

Hope Tribulation aren't on too early while everyone's still queuing, cos they were ace last time I saw them.

Re: Slipknot + behemoth UK Tour

Behemoth's stage show with all the videos, smoke, pyros etc will probably be significantly slimmed down here, plus they'll probably only play for about 45 mins, so nah, won't bother.

Re: 5FDP/Megadeth/Bad Wolves European Tour

I imagine many folk on here will see this as some kind of sacrilege and that it should be the other way around but the sad fact is that in recent years, 5FDP have played bigger venues on their own tours than Megadeth have. Regardless of that, I still think Megadeth should play their own gigs at the...
