Re: Incineration Fest 2021 - Camden Town 08/05/21

Never been to the roundhouse, it does look a fair old distance from the other venues. I reckon most the bands I'd like would probably be in the smaller three venues anyway. Maybe 10 min walk at the most, if they were having a bigger venue included it was either the Roundhouse or the Forum, and this...

First indoor since 2006 at the Astoria, so yeah.

What setlist are they doing? Hopefully the regular one that's mainly from the first album with a few from the other albums.

Re: Next Announcement

Judas Priest, Saxon and Diamond Head are all "at risk" from this virus. The American bands might not be able to get to Europe for the festivals. I think it's extremely unlikely that Bloodstock will go ahead. We're talking 5 months ahead, things have only gone crazy in the last few weeks. ...

Re: Biff Byford Solo Tour

Guess Biff found out how fickle the industry is and a reality check on his popularity . Fickle? I'm sure his popularity would have been enough had he done a smaller your at sensible prices, but doing an extensive tour featuring odd locations at massively inflated ticket prices, he requires more of ...

Re: Next Announcement

From what others have described about their twitter account, it seems Vicky will be determined to press ahead regardless, but if bands start pulling out, or Showsec say nay, or the vendors can't get staff to run the stalls... it's hard to see the fest going ahead in that instance. Hardly up to her ...

Re: Next Announcement

I think Unleash the Archers are about the right kind of band for the sophie stage - pretty big name in certain circles but relatively unknown outside of it. That kind of logic could be applied to lots of reasonably sized metal bands though. The simple fact is that it's mental that popular bands lik...

Re: 2020 Albums

On the contrary, I thought A Map of All Our Failures and Feel the Misery were brilliant! More so than For Lies I Sire, even. Oooh controversy, cos I've only heard people say glowing things about For Lies I Sire, I just don't find much to love in the the 2 subsequent albums. For me they started to l...

Re: Coronavirus

Looks like all English football matches gonna be behind closed doors very soon.

I care not about that, Hellfest is my concern.

Re: Biff Byford Solo Tour

Yeah it's ludicrous that he charges prices people would think twice about playing to see Saxon for, for his solo stuff, especially if he's playing obscure venues like Gateshead, Bath and Milton Keynes. And I also don't see what his health has to do his it, it doesn't justify higher prices in any way...

Re: Next Announcement

Just listened to the main Savage Master track on YouTube, and it bloody atrocious. Sounds like they're desperately trying to have a Doro style thing going on, but the trouble is they just sound like a pub band with an appalling bad singer. Why did Bloodstock pick this tripe? Because they've got no ...

It's sounding pretty bland to me, the 3 before that were pretty meh too, For Lies I Sire was the last one I really liked.

Re: Borknagar + Saor + Can Bardd - London 28/11/20

Ha ha. No. The first Vortex album is arguably the best thing they've done IMHO. Haha, no. The Archaic Course is arguably the worst thing they've done IMHO. It's got one very good song in Oceans Rise, but it's messy as fuck, the vocals are all over the place and the production is horrible, plus it c...

Re: Borknagar + Saor + Can Bardd - London 28/11/20

Borknagar are a truly outstanding band. They're good but up and down, love the first 2 albums with the amazing Garm on vocals, but they went down after that when they got Vortex warlbling all over the place; Vortex generally ruins every band he's involved with anyway (see also Dimmu Borgir and Arct...

Re: Incineration Fest - Camden Town 09/05/20

Is it easy to switch venues at this? Any queuing? Took like 5/10 mins to get the wristband and then after that it's just walk into a venue with a visible wristband; I managed to jump between venues with no issues other than foot traffic in Camden. I guess the main issue is if everyone wants to see ...
