Well it is Raging Speedhorn.....

Got tickets to see Marduk in December in London all seated at tables, which will be bizarre if it goes ahead, a dinner party to see Marduk...

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

The last few minutes were spent thinking, "WTF, this whisky bottle is drunk-adult-proof...then then I got the box off the top that was holding my bonus whiskey glass. Okay, not that I've gone from cider to whisky and I've got my headphones on as I crank a mix CDR into my ear drums. Let's remem...

Re: Boss Keloid + Tuskar UK tour

I can't help thinking the gigs for summer next year look very optimistic right now, and summer festivals even more so.

Re: 2021 Bands Ranking List

For me overall the line-up is decent but Mercyful Fate headlining is what won me over, I doubt I would be attending otherwise. I'm liking that they're booking more up and coming bands like Green Lung, Lost Society, Conjurer, Jinjer and Svalbard, hoping we can get Idle Hands back on the bill too! Th...

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

My first few Smart phones were HTCs, which were a good introduction.

My last couple have been Huaweis, which are freakin awesome.

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

I don't even own a mobile phone, I hate talking on the phone, the wife has a samsung galaxy thing and is always on it though. Considering what phones do these days, the talking time is a fairly minimal percentage of it's use. A mobile phone is basically a much better version of your laptop these da...

First wave was in the 80s, ie Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Hellhammer etc.

The second wave was the Norway scene in the early 90s, Mayhem, Emperor, Darkthrone, Burzum, Immortal, Satyricon etc.

You can call post 2000s stuff 3rd wave.

Chadwick Boseman

Now that's fucked up, young and an awesome actor. Hope the Black Panther series can still continue, he'd have wanted it to.

Re: Strategy Board Games

Horrified is definitely simpler than Pandemic, though it can depend which monsters you're playing (the mechanics to beat each are different). As for Pandemic player roles, I believe in the rules it states you're meant to pick them at random. Have you managed to beat it on the hardest difficulty set...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

hmmm, so many variables here, but mainly dependent on future spikes, when cinema etc re-open fully, when gyms are back to normal....gigs will be the LAST thing to happen.

I'll go for March 2021.

Definitely not this year anyway.

Re: Strategy Board Games

If you're into Co-op games, Pandemic is a brilliant strategy game. Genuinely challenging whilst still being fun. . Picked up Pandemic a few months ago, and we love it, great fun and gets very frantic towards the end. I've found the best way to play it is for people to get the task roles at random r...

Re: Nu Power Metal

Bands like Sabaton, Powerwolf, Gloryhammer, and Twilight Force have a different feel and approach to Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Stratovarius and Helloween, etc... Do they really? Gloryhammer are very melodic and symphonic, so not a million miles away from the likes of Rhapsody and Blind Guardian in ...

Re: Next Announcement

The mention of Draconian Times was dropped from the poster when this year's fest was cancelled so I don't think they're doing it anymore, certainly not seen it mentioned as such a set since. One of the festival team confirmed on Facebook earlier that they would be playing Draconium Times’ That's a ...
