Re: What has made you happy today

Oi oi, haven't been round these parts in a while. I do alot of shit alone these days. Not sure if healthy or just down right sad. Absolutely this. WMMHT is booking a load of solo travel (albeit staying in, gulp, hostels and shit so should hopefully meet a few new people) around Europe during my time...

Re: What's upset you?

I didn't like to speculate but I thought that was probably the case from what I'd read on here. Difficult in the sense that it can't be treated so much with medication, but understanding why you feel the way you do and how you've developed certain coping mechanisms (often rooted in past experiences)...

After 2012, I fully understand. Never again. :ugh: I hope they put on some rainy day entertainment this year because I could not comprehend how anyone had a remotely enjoyable time.

Re: What has made you happy today

I'm sure anyone who has me on Facebook will be fed up of the whole campaign, but my lovely old teacher's daughter has cancer and basically has 8 weeks left to get treated in the US, which costs a shitload. They were initially trying to raise £100,000 which seemed impossible, but they've managed to r...

Re: What has made you happy today

I was nurse in charge on the late shift (after returning from 4 days off to what can only be described as absolute chaos/hell). No one died! :shy:

Re: Trivial Grumblings

I've somewhat involuntarily stopped on all medication due to the GPs being such a massive pain in the arse. I'm not anxious anymore without antidepressants, and I feel like a bit of me has been switched back on after feeling knocked out for the past few years, which is nice. However, I am back to fe...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Edit: OK, now I feel guilty. *Insert sweary rant about friend's family deliberately guilting her into doing stuff we'd (*I'd*) planned with them instead, when they'd only spend the whole time being miserable anyway.*

Re: The Relationships Thread

Yeah, the scary thing is that however good you are you can't stop a person leaving if they make the decision to. I'm not sure, should I ever get into a happy relationship, I'd ever be able to relax about that. In other news, I went on my first date in recent history this evening. He was so lovely an...

Re: What pissed you off today

I watched the whole of Making a Murderer but never got into it like everyone else seemed to. Probably after someone had posted an article showing the prosecution's evidence that had been left out - found it difficult to completely buy into after that. Still dodgy as fuck mind, especially for the kid.

Re: A free-for-all thread

Yeah I've never tipped tattooists - not against the idea but it's never even occurred to me, plus I feel awkward handing people extra money like a reward. When tipping in general I find it easiest to just round it up to an appropriate kind of number - if it was say £275 just calling it £300 or whate...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

GP practice is the biggest load of bullshit. I ran out of medication but have been waiting for a rare day off since the whole system was ring in the morning, get called back by a doctor and then potentially have to go in following the phonecall - i.e. spend all day fannying about. Got told that now ...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

As of 9am today patients are banned from smoking across our trust, and we fully become the cigarette/lighter police. Of course I pulled the short straw and am on a long day. It's been nice knowing y'all.

Re: Trivial Grumblings

We've got a new support worker and she's one of those proper old-school, been doing it forever "I am what I am" gobby types. I get the feeling she takes things I say the wrong way as she keeps making these little comments like I'm some princess bossing her about because, as she pointed out...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Having had to use up all my annual leave over the past couple of months, I thought I'd try and scrape some extra pennies on top of basic salary by requesting a long day Good Friday, because what even is Good Friday. Kindly was given long days Easter Sunday and Monday too, but being the only qualifie...
