Re: The Ale Thread.

Pendle Witches is one of my favourites as well.. I rediscovered Jenning's Snecklifter recently. I had the bottled one a few years ago and thought it was alight, nothing special. I gave it a another chance on draught the other week and it was bloody fantastic. I also had a Christmas ale in the Leeds ...

Re: The Ale Thread.

My first attempt at home brewing is under-way. I currently have a cheap Newcastle Brown Ale clone kit bubbling away nicely, in the fermenter, hopefully ready for new year. In other news my local Morrisons has started selling one of my favourites, Fraoch in a 4 for £5 deal. Huzzah!

Re: The Ale Thread.

Yeah! Just seen a picture of the town area. Doesn't look like the sort of place where bear baiting would ever be acceptable practice, but yeah different times! :D You'd be surprised. I'm from Congleton originally and while the Beartown Brewery is certainly a plus point, stocking many local pubs as ...

Re: The Ale Thread.

Fraoch is one of my favourite ales. The only time I've got to have it though was the local beer festival where it was an annual regular, I've missed it since moving to Leeds. Leeds itself is pretty good for ale though. One of my favourite pubs is the Fox and Newt which has it's own brewery that prod...

Re: Computer Games Thread

I'm happy to pay 1600 points just for the crossbow. I hope you can do horseback combat with Shadowmere, cos all the other horses are a pain to ride. If you get the PC version, horse combat is already available through the 1.6 beta patch. It can take a little practice but it really is useful for tak...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Plus I'm hoping they've got more than 3 voice actors in this time. Forgot about that, I'd be happy enough with the same few woodenly spoken lines as long as the bastards stop trying to have a staring contest with me every time I talk to them. Not on my watch, criminal scum. That's something I'd lik...

Re: I am *hic* drunk on the fuggin' internet

I can't remember exactly what brand, but it's one of the banana beers sold. Absolute beaut! I have no idea what banoffee is, but if it's bananary, I believe Morrissons sell it. You might also be interested in the Hot Cross ale in Morrissons. I hate hot-cross buns, so I've never even picked it up to...

Re: The Ale Thread.

Ah, well if you're in Sheffield, you will be visiting The Tap. That's a fantastic pub adjacent to the railway station. There must have been 15-20 hand pumps of real ale, and then there was the bottled beer... I love it in there. I just stumbled upon it when I had a half hour wait for a train and en...

Re: Computer Games Thread

I tried going up behind the Great Khan encampment to try and get to Jacob's Town and my companion got stuck and went around, leaving me on my own. I lost count of how many times I got dicked by Cazadors, going through there.

Re: Computer Games Thread

yeah cazadores sucked. the only thing i found that was any good against them was a shotgun, but the one i had only had 2 shots before you needed to reload and it still wasnt even that good Cazadores are the bane of my characters existence though the sniper rifle makes mince meat of them with decent...

Re: The Ale Thread.

I had a couple of lovely spring ales on saturday, the first being Beartown Brewery's Bearly spring, the other being Witchwood's Elderwitch. I love elderflower so the second one was particularly tasty for me. Elderwych is a gorgeous pint. Really refreshing for a beer.. Abbot is a funny one, bottled ...

Re: The Ale Thread.

Fancied a late night/ early morning beer before bed and decided on a fairly local one called Scary Hairy, from the Leather Britches Brewery, in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. http://i51.tinypic.com/20gf8l4.jpg It's fairly lively as it has residual live yeast, which is somthing I've rarely come across in ale...

Re: The Ale Thread.

Not an ale, but I have a bottle of Nuclear Tactical Penguin that I got for xmas. I will probably be opening it sometime this weekend Terrific waste of money like all Brew Dog ales. You and your hatred for Brew Dog  ' To be honest, they haven't got the best reputation. There's horror stori...
