Re: Eurovision

Seems Australia and Germany learned from their mistakes last year. I never thought I'd see the day.

They're already booked for Summer Breeze, so worth a shot.

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

I'm a few months late to post but back in September I entered my first novice powerlifting competition, and this crippled old lady right here who kind of half-arses the sport didn't come last! I got a couple of red flags, but I learned a bunch and had heaps of fun so definitely worth it.

Re: Eskimo Callboy

Yes! Saw them at Good Things Festival a couple of weeks ago and they made my year. A couple of friends who aren't familiar with their music but caught (some of) their set commented on how great they were.

So yeah, if BOA is willing and they are able, that'd be sick!

Re: What has made you happy today

A day late but I broke another deadlifting PB last night by 5kg. No videos or pictures were taken, but I did have eyewitnesses. I hurt now but it was totally worth it. :D

Re: What has made you happy today

The pathetic nature of my post was more related to my handling of our most recent lockdown, as my state has so far had awesome luck and awesome management of the pandemic so far. Until now we've been able to do so much social stuff that much of the rest of the world hasn't. Up until recently we've e...

Re: What has made you happy today

I know I'm going to sound pretty pathetic saying this, but technically it did make me happy. We're a week into our hardest lockdown since the pandemic began: no visitors at all, no travelling more than 10km from home, plus all the other fun stuff. A friend who lives close by and I were discussing ho...

Re: What has made you happy today

Just played a show with Matt "Skitz" Sanders. He loved my band's set, loved my performance, and fuck it was such a sick night. :D

Re: Black Sabbath 50 Years exhibition

I had a really great time. I rocked up a little early but they let me in immediately and I stayed as long as I wanted, and of course I took loads of pictures and bought a souvenir mug. Then I had lunch, got back on the train to the airport and flew to Stockholm via Amsterdam for the last leg of my t...

I've just booked the midday session to the Black Sabbath 50 Years exhibition on the Monday when we all leave Bloodstock. Anyone care to join me? :D

Re: What has made you happy today

A few days late to post, but on Thursday night I saw Judas Priest for the first time ever. Given that the only Priest I own is an "essential" Judas Priest compilation, and I really just wanted to go "before they retire/die" and thought it would be cool, but not amazing. Boy was I...

Re: What has made you happy today

On New Year's Eve I sent out some messages to people I wouldn't otherwise contact (mostly bands, and mostly through facebook), just to thank them for the great memories, all the cool things they had done for me (that they were probably unaware of), and to wish them good fortune in 2015. Just got a r...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

I only got 4 hours sleep (tops) because, like every year, my brother (and his girlfriend as well this morning) insists on getting up early for Christmas and waking me up so we can all open gifts together.
