Re: ArcTanGent 2020

Hopefully this means Opeth won't be anywhere near Bloodstock.

Decent lineup, although they are getting worse than Bloodstock in booking the same bands every year.

Re: Next Announcement

Priest were pretty crap last year, though I like them otherwise. Behemoth are not my kind of thing at all, but they were really good when they played in 2012, so I may check them out. Must say it seems a bit safe and uninspired, they've taken no risks on the headliners. I hope they throw a few curve...

Re: Next Announcement

Paradise Lost- Starting to find them repetitive now, would of preferred someone else. Will probably check them out though, not the biggest fan of DT but worth checking out. I kind of agree. I love PL, but they could have gone for other similar bands - My Dying Bride stick out, or Candlemass, or, as...

Re: Next Announcement

Diamond Head and Paradise Lost for me. Don't really know any Life of Agony. Philip Anselmo can fuck off though.

I think I'm the only one who would prefer Paradise Lost playing a normal set though.

Re: Next Announcement

I'd be really shocked if Behemoth or Mercyful Fate were headliners, I'd say both would work better as special guests. I'd guess Killswitch (although I think that would be a letdown, they aren't as big or special as other bands they could get) for Saturday, Priest or Megadave for Sunday.

Re: Next Announcement

I can see it being Killswitch as special guests. Considering they supported Parkway on their recent tour, it would look like a downgrade to have them headlining this year, but I could see them as special guests to someone big on the Saturday.

Re: Next Announcement

Good announcement - I like all three bands! Devin headlining is great, although I'm surprised they've announced him so far before his UK tour in December. Gloryhammer the same, and as much as I like them I'd rather they'd booked a different power metal band - it seems like a safe choice, they could ...

Re: Download Festival 2020

Download seem particularly risk-averse when it comes to booking headliners. Bloodstock do it pretty well where lately they've had one day booked by a new headliner, someone that's come up through the ranks. Download don't seem to want to do that at all. Even Reading are pushing up new headliners, ev...

Aren't those pretty big venues for them? May end up going to Bristol anyway though.

They said the first headliner is coming in September - any tours finishing around then? When is the Volbeat tour?

Re: Dear Joey DeMaio

If that were the case, how would bands like Hanowar or Womenowar get to play the festival - there's no way they could afford to pay Joey every time they did a live show. I know its a different stage, but unless the main stage is broadcast somewhere, surely they can't have to pay. I'm not trying to s...

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

Thursday Rotting Christ - 7/10 - they were ok, pretty poor setlist for me though Friday Xero - 7.5/10 - good solid start to the day Death Angel - 7/10 - not a fan of thrash but these guys were pretty good Metal Church - 6.5/10 - they weren't bad, not spectacular either though. The Hope Burden - 8/10...

Re: Dear Joey DeMaio

Since you're probably here and all butthurt... Ross the Boss smashed it. Sorry. Why would he be here? :? Yep. I bet he's really unhappy with all the royalties he's just earned by doing absolutely nothing.... I'm pretty sure you don't get royalties for live performances. Maybe if they showed it some...

Re: BOA 2020?

I'm also expecting Hatebreed. Probably Dimmu and Code Orange as well. Have they announced anywhere where the bands they have booked are going to be placed? Violence are above Skindred, who were third down last time so are they special guests? Sacred Reich are on a par with them on the announcement -...
