Re: Covid killed Anathema.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they came back in a couple of years. I hope so anyway, they are one of my favourite bands.

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

I'm going to be a bit more optimistic and say January. That's providing things don't get drastically worse of course, but I imagine by then, perhaps even sooner the clubs will be under such financial pressure they will have to open or even more will shut down. The government aren't going to be fundi...

Re: Next Announcement

Hoping for a much a better Sunday Sophie headliner so that works for me. Get Satan back, they were awesome in '14 and they fit really well with Priest, Saxon, Diamond Head... I'd rather Hatebreed were on the Sunday. I can watch Priest (didn't think much of them last time, but I'll give them another...

Re: Amenities improvements/requests

I don't like the idea of cashless festivals. Tried it at 2000 Trees one year and it was just a ballache - constant crashes, meaning half the time you couldn't buy anything at all, or the stalls just gave up and took cash. It was also on a special wrist thing that was pretty cumbersome, and didn't gi...

Re: Nu Power Metal

I don't know, I think pretty much all those bands sound different from each other, but similar enough you can tell they are the same genre. Especially Twilight Force and Gloryhammer, which sound like a tribute to the classic power metal bands.

Re: Next Announcement

Pretty interesting listen. I still get the feeling she doesn't have a clue about power metal. It just depends how which bands you get. That statement at the end could be Idle Hands or Bossk - both would be pretty obvious if you said the genre. Its probably Hatebreed though - I get the feeling they'l...

Re: Next Announcement

has there been any confrmation on if pl are still doing draconian ? , as as much as i love the album and it was one of my gateway albums i feel a normal set with stuff of obsidian would go perfectly with the run of pl dimmu and mf The mention of Draconian Times was dropped from the poster when this...

Re: Next Announcement

random thought as the ammount of people loving this announcement, do you think the fest will sell out and sell out quick because of rolled over tickets ect ? Doubt it, they aren't a big band in the scheme of things. Fair play to Bloodstock for getting them, I didn't think there was a chance they wo...

Re: Next Announcement

If we're just throwing names out: Disturbed (DOWN with the sickness after all) Babymetal (maybe why they weren't rebooked for Download) Manowar (allegedly playing festivals, before they decide they can't be bothered) I'd take any of those bands over most of the bands mentioned. But lets face it, we ...

Re: Next Announcement

Dino Cazares has responded to a tweet from Vicky saying: "I'm Down to hear who it's going to be" - but then someone responded to that saying it's someone who has never headlined before so who knows. Vicky didn't do anything to deny it in her reply...I'm pretty sure he knows exactly who it...

Re: Next Announcement

God, I hope its not Down. Aside from Anselmo being a racist, there music is just a bit boring, and definitely doesn't lend itself to headlining a festival. Considering he's already there though, that's probably exactly who it is.

Re: Next Announcement

Vicky just posted something about how she's genuinely excited to announce the last headliner.

You know its going to be someone terrible then.

Re: Next Announcement

Its gonna be a fucking weird year getting barely any festival announcements to get excited for since most fests 90% of the line up is rolled over Especially when Bloodstock have carried over such a massive pile of wank I'm hoping we get a few bands have a change of plans between now and then, it is...

Re: Next Announcement

I can't see how this will work for metal bands. I've watched a few live streams from the likes of Frank Turner and Levellers singer Mark Chadwick, where they sit with an acoustic guitar in their front room, banter and sing songs. But a metal band...I can't see it. Even if they play from a stage or ...
