Re: BOA 2018: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
I love going down the front at gigs. When I do this I take care to avoid harming other people down there or generally being an arsehole, as most people do, but I accept that it's the front of metal festival, you may end up with a pint down you or painful blows to body parts. Fine, it happens. What ...

Re: BOA 2018: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
Good Sophie and New Blood stage sound Toilets All the bands I enjoyed, especially Judas Priest. The usual crowd of people whose company I enjoy. The lack of thieving complaints. Hope that's a genuine reflection of the festival as a whole. Lager was nicer than the 2017 offering. Bad Main stage sound...

Re: Is there any lager this year?
Adding my support to the criticism of last years lager choice.
Really hoping we go back in time to just 2015/16 when the product list is announced.

Re: Sophie stage post-band entertainment feedback
Given the tent a miss these last two years due to the repetitive nature of what occurs.
How about a variety? A covers band at lower volume? Steve Hughes doing a set on one of the nights. Etc etc.

Re: BOA 2017: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Slightly different order.
The Bad:
* The lager. Increased price for poorer quality than in past couple of years.
* Thursday queue. Over three hours. Admission tent same size as half a dozen years ago.
* No Mexican food stall
The Ugly:
* Men in mankini's.
The Good:
* Everything else.

Driving for the first time since 2011. Will the car park be open earlier than the advertised 12pm for the campsite?

What about an after hours cover band? Obviously restricted to the same volume levels as the DJ's. Just something different. Pretty please.

Re: No more Evil Scarecrow
For all the crowds they have got on two occaisions, it doesn't seem to translate into anything in the 'real world' - the gig in Manchester they've got booked is the Ruby Lounge which holds 350 people. They seem to be a 'festival band' which people enjoy on the day, but won't cross the road to see o...

Re: Bloodstock 2016 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
The good: Twisted Sister. Rotting Christ. Behemoth. Goatwhore. Misanthrope. Mordrake. Bull Riff Stampede. Diamond Head. Plenty of other bands too but the above were my favourites. Texas Smoker. Mexican food stall. Running out of change resulting in a reduced beer price to a round figure. The quality...
Re: Powerwolf
Headlining the Sophie tent again would be good too. A band of such greatness deserves an hour long set

Re: Video Screens in 2017
I posted this as a reply on the 2016 thread, but thought it might deserve its own topic! The video screens. They're awesome - they let people further back see (a necessity with how well the festival is growing) and there's some stuff to watch while you're getting ready for the next band to start. H...

Enough of (just) the 4DJ's.
Could only cope with one night in the tent after the bands this year. Severe boredom weakened the appetite for any more. Same old, night after night. Year after year. Give us something different, even if it means putting something on in the New Blood stage.
