Re: Dragonforce UK Tour

Picked up a ticket for this, mainly because it's less than half an hour's walk from home and some mates are going

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last: Anathema in Liverpool Grand Central Hall. Well worth the trek due to the smattering of old stuff in the set. Support was by Vola, who played well, but didn't set the world on fire for me.

Next: unless anything comes up in the meantime it's Bloodstock

Re: Sabaton 2020

I think it will be an amazing show, but given that I will have seen them at Bloodstock a few months previously and Serenity are so good live, I'll be going to their (probably quite quiet) gig instead.

Re: Next Announcement

From what I can tell, the Volbeat tour has practically sold out already (apart from the ridiculously expensive fan/vip packages) so they wouldn't need to wait until after the tour to announce them, if that's what they had originally planned. Not sure how that announcement will go down, but I for on...

Re: 2019 Albums

Really enjoying the new Kull album, but then I am a very big fan of Bal Sagoth....and it sounds exactly like Bal Sagoth with a different singer....which of course is what it actually is.

New Fleshgod Apocalypse is also a splendid piece of work which will almost certainly end up in my top 10 of 2019

Re: Next Announcement

So a bunch more Sophie bands announced today: Wheel Solitary Violblast Crescent Blood Red Hourglass The Parallax Method. Not heard of any of them. First time ever there has been a Sophie announcement that's happened. Either I am old and out of touch or the level of bands on Sophie has plummeted. Fu...

Re: Next Announcement

That set me wondering, who is the most divisive headliner Bloodstock could book? Five Finger Death Punch? Steel Panther? Babymetal? Bullet for My Valentine? Stryper featuring Count Grisnackh? Or Ted Nugent and Phil Anselmos new supergroup? Pretty much all of those would guarantee my non attendance

Re: Next Announcement

There are a few great bands on the Sophie this year that I will be happy to watch, but I do feel that the overall level of the bands playing (headliners aside) is far lowerthan previously....oris that just me getting old and grumpy
