Re: Non-Metal Music Chat

Gandalf do you actually do anything with your life besides lurking on here stirring up pointless, pedantic arguments with people who are just looking for an outlet to chat about things? No, don't answer, I don't actually want to know about how to go to the corner shop every morning to get your daily...

Re: The Health 'n' Fitness Thread

Maaay have overdone it. Back did not like what I subjected it to but rather than pain it just generally feels a bit compacted in the upper area with a very mild but not overbearing burning sensation. The kinda thing where I bet I'm gonna wake up in agony and/or paralysed tomorrow. When I put that o...

Turbo: have you deleted your facebook account? If Turbo isn't on here anymore: has Turbo deleted his facebook account? I wanted show my mate that attended the same LAN last month Turbo's pictures of the grotty beast seated next to him eating cold Homepride sauce but I can't find them.

Re: What has made you happy today

60p per mile if you have 3 passengers ;) This is precisely why I drive an Insignia. The handbook said 88mpg on extra-urban, realistically it's more like 75mpg but that's still phenomenal for a 2ltr 140bhp 1.5 tonne car with cruise control set to 70mph. When necessary driving for work is very profit...

Re: The food thread

Back when we were skint students we used to go vegetarian one day a week to save money/cut back on saturated fats, not sure how much it actually saved but it was good for opening up our expectations about what could occupy centre stage in a meal (Dan reminded me on facebook the other day that I had ...

Re: What's upset you?

This kind of thing gets me so bent out of shape mad, you can't really switch the stress off but the best thing to do is reassure yourself that it will all work out. Back in February Meg accidentally rear-ended a Polish lady in a Nissan Note, they were sitting stationary at a roundabout, there was a ...

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

I've be honest now and admit that for all my holier than thou outrage I do have a habit of type-casting people based upon ethnicity. For example whenever I see a socially awkward white guy driven by bigoted delusions of a secret muslim takeover I start getting these horror flashes about them waking ...

It's just clicked that you're satirising what an idiot on the internet sounds like and now I'm embarrassed because I thought you were seriously that out of touch with reality.

I'm not 100% sure about the everybody loves Corbyn sentiment but you might be right that the bigoted idiots are still in the minority here. The problem is that they are always the ones screaming loudest and most frequently so it offsets the noise the in room.

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

Getting back to the topic of "Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?" I would be totally fine with Bloodstock banning bags if it were in the name of safety and a response to events on the continent over the past year. Meg and I normally do take a bag into the arena but we'd be abl...

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

One thing this does highlight is an interesting generational trait that I've noticed around the workplace as well. People of my age group and a little bit older (probably people born 1985 onwards) are very flustered about Islamic terrorism, we've been hearing about it most of our lives now, certainl...

1 whole percent? Isn't that a bit generous? This is clearly a high-risk high-reward model guys I would steer clear.

You going to wear that shirt that says "I Eat Ass On The First Date"? Because when you took me for dinner that's what got me revved up.
