Unless they can get rapid testing sorted, its gonna be late next year at the earliest now.

Re: KK/Ripper

What? Do all the members of Judas Priest hate each other now? So bad that they can't play at the same festival with their respective bands? I don't really know what the relationship is like between them tbh. However, I reckon its more that each band would have more value to the fest as a stand alon...

Re: 2021 Bands Ranking List

Judas Priest and Mercyful Fate are my top tier and reall ybig deals for me. Second are Dimmu and Paradise Lost, they are amongst my favourite bands Third is a good chunk of bands I like and I want to see in quite a big way: Unleash the Archers, Dark Tranquility, idle Hands, Saxon, Gloryhammer, Dimon...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

I'll be surprised if we see festivals or gigs next year I think this whole thing is going to last a very long time. This, we need a vaccine in widespread use before festivals can return and I just can't see that happening in time to save next years festival season :( Quick turnover testing could be...

Covid killed Anathema.

Anathema are going on 'long term hiatus'. They seem to be implying the current situation is the main reason. That sucks. Have any other bands had to call it a day due to the covid restrictions/coronavirus?

Re: Nu Power Metal

I'm not sure I agree with this. The power metal label has always covered a variety of sounds, and that's still true today. Do today's power metal bands sound different to yesterdays? A little, yes. But probably no more so than any other genre. There is a division between second wave black metal and...

Re: Ozzy osbourne

Sadly, I agree. Medication might allow him to do a one off gig, but unless there is some sort of medical breakthrough, he is probably done touring.

At my most optimistic I'd say Feb. But I reckon April/May is the best bet

Re: Nu Power Metal

It's changes a little, but not so much that its unrecognisable. If anything, the only thing I can think is there seems to be less neo-classical elements and bands have moved more towards a 'melodic heavy metal' vibe. The neo-classical element. Yep, that's something that is missing. It is indeed a s...

Nu Power Metal

A quick thought: Are many of the newer power metal bands actually a different gene to the classic ones? Bands like Sabaton, Powerwolf, Gloryhammer, and Twilight Force have a different feel and approach to Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Stratovarius and Helloween, etc... but is it enough of a difference t...
