Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - Rhapsody of Fire, Manchester. The supports where ok, they both had talented members, but the songs lacked character for me. As for ROF, Second time seeing them with the new line-up, they were even better this time. I wonder if the Turilli/Lione Rhapsody can match it In April? Next: Blaze Bayl...

Machine Head would still be heading. Doesn’t stop the recent stuff being below par though.

Re: Bands that got away... so far.

I just thought of another! Borknagar! However, they play so infrequently (usually london, natch) I'm not surprised I haven't seen them. Good news then, playing HRH Vikings in Sheffield in November(?) Without just spamming out Thrash bands I'll stick to the bigger names  Aerosmith and AC/DC spr...

Re: Blaze Bayley - 'Tenth Dimension' UK Tour

Going to see his maiden set in London. Lots of midweek dates here, so I’ll have to look at this closer to the time.

Re: Bands that got away... so far.

Cathedral some how - they seemed to be playing everywhere all of the time, for a period, but I never managed to catch them live. Stratovarius - I actually have a ticket stub from a show of theirs, and photos of them at Bloodstock, but absolutely no memory of either event. I suppose that counts ? Th...

Bands that got away... so far.

Which bands have you never seen, but still really want to. For me, number one is probably Iced Earth. I’ve been into them since I was a teenager but I’ve somehow missed them every time. I’ve been lucky enough to see most other bands I’ve been into. There is the odd underground-ish black metal band l...

Re: HRH Vikings III - O2 Academy Sheffield - 28th/29th Nov 2020

Also, this lineup has way more depth than most HRH events. I wonder if that is a conscious decision or happy accident. Either way it’s a good thing.

Re: UK Death Fest

Sacramentum Is the only real draw, but it’s a big draw! Never thought they would get back together!

Is Nuclear assault the first headliner?

It’s a risk putting it on when Knottfest is on too. I wonder if both of those fest been scheduled for august has had an impact on the weak Bloodstock lineup.

Re: Download Festival 2020

I'm not so bothered by the prospect of missing Killswitch as I saw them four times with Maiden in 2018 and once last year. I've seen Sepultura less often and I wouldn't mind briefly revisiting my teenage years and seeing Funeral For A Friend's set too. :shy: Pretty much the appeal of the Sunday for...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last Slipknot /Behemoth in Newcastle. Both bands were good and I'm glad I got to see Behemoth as I'm probably missing Bloodstock, however, I felt a bit ill so my energy was down a notch.

Next Rhapsody of fire in Manchester!

Re: worst band on the lineup ?

Has to be Hatebreed. I don't dislike them anymore than other bands I don't care for on the bill, but they have played so often it's a bit silly really.
