Re: Incineration Fest 2021 - Camden Town 08/05/21

Just thought I'd start a new thread now the 2020 fest is sadly cancelled. Emperor headlining. Four venues this time - Roundhouse, Electric Ballroom, Underworld and Black Heart. Not entirely happy about the decision to include the Roundhouse as it's a fair old schlep from the other venues and it alw...

Re: Incineration Fest - Camden Town 09/05/20

TBH if the festival has made a band for itself, a much smaller band can headline without it being comparable to what they normally play - desertfest filled it with Monster Magnet and Fu Manchu - not big bands

As thought, this has been cancelled. Tickets can be held over for next years 10th anniversary and early bird tickets can be bought.

Re: Next Announcement

Sadly I can't see BOA going ahead this year. It all really depends on the spread of the virus and if any of the headliners are able to come. I thinks personally once we hit may and things are peaking they may have to make the difficult decision to cancel. I'm 50/50 in terms of optimism...

Re: Coronavirus

Since the counting began, the new coronovirus has increased the normal number of deaths (1,643 per day) in the UK by about 0.9%, and that's assuming it was the main factor in all the deaths attributed to it. The increase for Italy is, very approximately, 12.8%. One of the big issues in Italy is tha...

Re: Coronavirus

Mike Portnoy put a response up regarding the cancellation of the Sons of Apollo dates - essentially saying that they will take a hit on this, but if they all get to Europe and dates are pulled by promoters etc they will lose a 6-figure sum so can't take the risk. The problem with this (and most H&am...

Re: KK Downing forms glorified Judas Priest tribute band

Could be good - KK can still play and the band look OK. They'll do an album, play 2 songs from it, rest all Priest, and no doubt destined to play the 'Kings of Rock' type Butlins gigs with The Sweet, Manfred Man, Quireboys etc.

Re: Bands that got away... so far.

ZZ Top, played Scotland once and tickets sold out almost immediately. (annual Xmas present). Was in the same boat, but I finally saw them at Wembley Arena last year. They got up on stage and played for about 59 minutes, then walked off. They played well for those minutes, but for the high cost of s...

If anyone's in Cheshire, they're also playing the Electric Church record shop/café in Winsford on 28th Feb with Red Spektor.

Re: Desertfest 2020 - CoC, Orange Goblin etc

Looking pretty good for me. Apparently had to scale it back because of headliner availability so no Roundhouse and a 'back to basics' approach so no sprints up Camden High St.

Be good to finally see Witchcraft - they always seemed to bag the opening slot on tours that ended up be cancelled.

Would love to see Jimmy Page play - wasnt into going to gigs on my own the last time he toured and now he talks about doing something new but never does anything.

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - Monster Magnet, Forum. Reasonably full given its a step up in venue, support was bland Planet Rock faves Them Damn Crows - not exactly inspiring given the previous support bands they've had. MM have long been a favourite, and playing a Powertrip flavoured set meant that it was right back to m...

Re: Cosmic Void Festival - Camden - 3rd & 4th October

Clicked on this as it sounded like a stoner rock festival!

BIt ambitious - cant say I've heard of many of the announcement but to leap in with the EB and Underworld is ambitious. Desertfest only started with the Underworld as its main hall and grew into the size it is after a few years

Re: Next Announcement

I enjoy lots of bands on the Sophie, problem is most of them you can see for a tenner at an all dayer quite easily, so not part of a line up I'd really pay 140 quid for, so its the main stage that makes me keen or not. While there's lots of bands that are 'fine', either by how much I like them or ba...
