Re: The Hu UK Tour 2020

They've got some hype machine behind them - they're advertised on Planet Rock quite frequently and its not their usual kind of music.

Also saw an ad for this, and tours by Hell Yeah and Lamb of God, in the classified ads in Private Eye - no poster, just a 3 liner that they were touring..

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Yeah, its 15mins drive for me, if it was public transport it would be well over an hour to get form one side of the ring road the other and probably none running when the gig finishes. Anyway, the CALM gig went well - tough going at times as I knew the guy who it was in memorium of, and friends with...

Re: What your family thinks of your love of metal?

My mum is 70 and always asks which bands I'm going to see as if she'll have heard the stoner/doom/metal band on Radio 2! She saw all sorts of bands play in Chester - Beatles, Marty Wilde, Hollies etc. My dad was into the 60s 70s bands, major Stones and Animals fan - couldn't get on with GNR ("....

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last: Warhorns. Next: HRH CROWS Country Rock thing From one extreme to the other. I was mainly going for Molly Hatchet, but they pulled out. Still enough to make it worthwhile. Not quite enough for me, as the two bands I really want to see (Jason and The Scorchers, Kentucky Headhunters) are a...

Re: 5FDP/Megadeth/Bad Wolves European Tour

Could be other reasons too - with Dave still receiving treatment they may not get finance/insurance for a headliner. If he has to pull out, a support band can be replaced without refunds.

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

Friday: Saw part of Xentrix after walking in, and heard a bit of Control The Storm, but not enough to really rate them. Death Angel - 7/10 - good first proper watch of the day. Tomorrow Is Lost 6/10 - Pretty good Metal Church - 7/10 - another good old school blast, not seen them since 2006 Bong Caul...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Good Good sets from the bands I wanted to see Friendly staff Seeing my mates band play, even if it was in the VIP Lancaster fly-past Bad Food prices - seems to be a common complaint. Went to a country/Americana festival a few weeks ago, and while it aims for a posher crowd, the food was much better ...

Re: Next Announcement

Apparently PWD sold more day tickets than anyone - which is fine but indicates there is a bit of a divide between them and weekend ticket buyers.

As for the biggest- Slayer or Priest

Re: Next Announcement

Vicky's IG seems to relishing in some kind of vindication for PWD - and in all fairness there were loads there to see them. Thought they were OK, a little bland but not too wide of the mark as some of the more melodic stuff had an In Flames sound. As for hardcore, bands like SOIA have been playing m...

Re: Dimmu Borgir cancel

Not to BOA to decide the IP rights based on a few news stories so not aiding and abetting anything - they wanted a band, band was available. Its happened many times before (Kyuss, Saxon, Queensryche..) and will happen again. If you've picked your side, don't watch..

Also if I have to Pay can you pay on the gate as there is no option to get the parking pass without buying a full ticket ATM You can pay as you go in to the...
