Re: Iron Maiden 2020

Don't begrudge that, I'm all for value for money  Just dislike it when bands take out a generic package support that's ill fitting, over a young band who could use the exposure. Hits me as the equivalent of BOA repeating Skindred Dunno, I see it as part of the game - it is a shame when bands o...

Re: Next Announcement

Rubbish Not in the slightest - how long ago was their last UK gig? The Underworld, bottom of the bill for Metallica? Now somehow equal billing with the likes of Priest, or someone like DT who can fill the Albert Hall? If the likes if Kreator and Testament have never clawed their way to headliner, n...

Problem is, booking him doesn't guarantee his attendance

Re: Next Announcement

Just seen the Instagram feed and Vicky put 'trying' when asked about Mercyful Fate, but then again she was positive about every band suggested..

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Couple of last minute decsisions: Buckcherry - Buckley - decent turn out for once in the venue. The band had their moments, but the decent tunes on their first album were ignored in favour of galumphing nu-metal styled dross. Much better were openers The Treatment - no idea if they're still a hard-r...

Re: Next Announcement

Agreed - when Metallica did it the most popular songs were the standard ones, so would have been an average set with little surprises. Anyway, Priest never strike me as that kind of band - they'll have a set for the tour and they'll stick to it. They've never really indulged the UK as anything other...

Re: Next Announcement

So is it because its priest that no one is up in arms about a repeat booking like they were with Slayer, Megadeth and many more that had more of a gap? I think it's more down to the relative scarcity of Priest gigs in the UK - cos of the Ozzy tour, the last BoA appearance has been their only gig in...

Re: Next Announcement

Vicky just Tweeted to tune in to Planet Rock at 10am Monday for a double headline announcement. I'll wait until it is posted I think. Planet Rock's involvement suggests it'll be at least one band they care about, such as Judas Priest, Volbeat or Megadeth. They only gave Bloodstock a mention this ye...

Re: 2019 Albums

I remember Slash's band being booted off after he told a story about blow jobs and a lizard that 'bit the fuck out him'. Cue Ant or Dec making a serious faced apology and the band not allowed to play.

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - DesertFest Antwerp - 6th one I've been to and still a highlight of the year - exchange rate means its not quite as cheap as it was when I first went, but its well organised, runs to time schedule each day, easy to get served, relaxed security (they're barely seen in the halls) and the bogs re...

Re: Next Announcement

Not a bad announcement - Like PL and the Draconian Times album, so that's a win, DH are Ok and made a decent album recently, Phil Anselmo - never liked Pantera much so not fussed. Regarding LOA - I think its fair to mention the singer - I've seen them twice, once before the transition and once last ...
