Re: Next Announcement
What makes it odder is seeing other types of bands from the US play around here, to about 100 if they're lucky - LA Guns, Enuff Z Nuff, Bang Tango, Love Hate - all play in places like Evesham, Buckley, Hull, year in year out... I'm sure I've seen Jizzy Pearl sing for 3 of those 4 bands  In ter...

Re: Next Announcement
I managed to have a good chat with Brainstorm when I saw them in Paris last year and specifically asked them about them never playing the UK.... not even a one off London show. They bluntly replied that no one would take on the gig. Lack of interest from promoters despite the band trying. It’s worr...

Re: Next Announcement
Don't blame them really. Don't know what Rock City was like but the Manchester Blind Guardian show at the Ritz wasn't particularly busy. They didn't even open the upstairs section which I think is the only gig I've been to there where that's happened. That happens quite often - I've been in there w...

Re: Next Announcement
Its a mixed bag but some, not just Power Metal but other, lets say more trad metal bands do alright that don't seem to get any festival recognition: Visigoth and Bewitcher got a good crowd in Manchester, much more than I was expecting. Fates Warning had a decent turnout at the Underworld. Threshold ...

Re: Next Announcement
I'm hearing rumours about Poison being a possibility. Anyone heard these rumours? What would you all say to some glam metal/rock? Can't really see it - they've not played here since early 90s and I think they've only done 1 gig in Europe in that time. They're on the Leppard/Crue stadium tour which ...

Re: Next Announcement
Still don't think MF are big enough for a headliner - if they can't re-book Behemoth (who may have already been booked for 2021 festivals) I reckon it'll be Trivium..

Re: Next Announcement
The Ramblin Man fest put some comments up about Download and Glastonbury - big fests have infrastructure things like Motorway junction closures/diversions to sort months in advance with organisations that may be on shut down, Glastonbury would have started to build its wall by now, can't do it with ...

Re: Next Announcement
Video just posted on Instagram that an announcement of some kind is imminent... As for cancellation vs postponement - seems like in the uk you can get a refund if an eve t is postponed. Not sure about the mainland, but HRH is based on Ibiza. I think you also pay them direct and not through a third p...

Re: Next Announcement

Sadly I can't see BOA going ahead this year. It all really depends on the spread of the virus and if any of the headliners are able to come. I thinks personally once we hit may and things are peaking they may have to make the difficult decision to cancel. I'm 50/50 in terms of optimism...

Re: Coronavirus
Since the counting began, the new coronovirus has increased the normal number of deaths (1,643 per day) in the UK by about 0.9%, and that's assuming it was the main factor in all the deaths attributed to it. The increase for Italy is, very approximately, 12.8%. One of the big issues in Italy is tha...

Re: Coronavirus
Mike Portnoy put a response up regarding the cancellation of the Sons of Apollo dates - essentially saying that they will take a hit on this, but if they all get to Europe and dates are pulled by promoters etc they will lose a 6-figure sum so can't take the risk. The problem with this (and most H&am...

Re: Next Announcement
I enjoy lots of bands on the Sophie, problem is most of them you can see for a tenner at an all dayer quite easily, so not part of a line up I'd really pay 140 quid for, so its the main stage that makes me keen or not. While there's lots of bands that are 'fine', either by how much I like them or ba...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.
Reed Mullins of Corrosion of Conformity - passed away at 53. Longstanding problems by the looks, couldn't make the flight when they last played BoA but gave the band a great groove when he was on form
