Thank you from Devil's Playground

Hi All,

Don't know how many, if any or you saw us play on friday, but THANK YOU! It's been a long time dream for me personally, to get on that stage, and it was immense as a band to see such a great crowd!

Hopefully we'll see you all again very soon :)

Ian

Re: M2TM 2017

It looks like death metal band Infected Dead won the mammoth 10-band final in Kent. I was hoping for Alastria who are a great power metal act. So far, there's been 1 symphonic (Aonia), 1 folk (Na Cruithne) and 1 power metal act (Alastria) who have been in the finals. None of them got through. They ...

Re: M2TM 2017

Just been reading up on some of the other tournaments. Cornwall/Devon are down to their semi-finals. Quite oddly - to me at least - they are giving bands just 15 minutes each in their semis! That seems quite short! This is quite frankly ridiculous. I live in Devon and I have just got a band started...

Re: M2TM 2017

Yes, it was a tough competition but we won! I've been going to Bloodstock since the indoor days, and I've always wanted to play that stage (Aceldama played the jager few years ago, but that's not the same)! I can't wait! Here's a clip from the final! https://youtu.be/uj-CL-2pb0A *I tried to embed it...

Re: movies

I thought it was a fantastic film too.
It got a lot of crap from the masses though because it was marketed more as an action/thriller than a thinky sci-fi.

Cinema day yesterday: Bad Education Movie: 3/10 I knew it was going to be shit before I even went in, but it fit in with my times. Not seen the show, but thought I'd give it a go anyway. Predictable gags, tries to be shocking, but fails massively. Man from U.N.C.L.E: 8/10 Heard mixed reviews about i...

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

The queue to get in on Thursday, not sure if that was normal but almost 1.5 hours was brutal in the sun. No, that was seriously abnormal. I've never seen it like that, it usually takes 20 minutes max to get in. The queue normally gets to those portaloos at the side if it's doing well, so lord knows...

Re: Pickpockets

All very well saying take a cheap phone, instead of smartphones, but most smartphones have stupid small sim cards, so it's not just a cheap phone, it's a new number and a pain to sync contacts etc, so useless if you want to actually use it. I'd rather just make sure it's insured. As for backups, wit...

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

I had to choose between spending money on booze, or spending it on food this year..I chose booze, and took a load of pot noodles and 'light lunch' things, both of which were predictably vile..but I suppose they constitute sustenance. But the food I saw people eating looked pretty good, and the bits ...

Re: 2015 - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

I was saying to my friends on one of the evenings about the chairs. I understand some people may have a legitimate reason for chairs, and I don't mind them when it's the middle of the day...put put them away when the crowd gets thicker and starts getting dark, have some common sense. Same as people ...

Re: Arena wifi

I got it to connect most days but usually only in the vicinity of the merch stand and either at way past midnight or before 10am when there were as few people nearby as possible. The main problem is they set it up with on-line sign in and each 'hot spot' seemed to have single wi-fi router with the ...

Re: Vickie on the Jasta Show

Before judging those who wear Slipknot shirts etc, try talking to them. You may be surprised by their breadth of musical taste and knowledge. I certainly have been over the years Exactly. I love BFMV, Nickelback, Trivium and loads of other 'Download' bands. But i also love Carcass, COB, Megadeth, S...
