Re: movies

I thought it was a fantastic film too.
It got a lot of crap from the masses though because it was marketed more as an action/thriller than a thinky sci-fi.

Re: movies

Cinema day yesterday: Bad Education Movie: 3/10 I knew it was going to be shit before I even went in, but it fit in with my times. Not seen the show, but thought I'd give it a go anyway. Predictable gags, tries to be shocking, but fails massively. Man from U.N.C.L.E: 8/10 Heard mixed reviews about i...

Re: movies

How much did it cost you out of interest? It cost me £10.80 with a student ticket, but my mate paid £15 over. Usually it would cost me £6.50 at my local cinema. £4.14, and I'll get 10% back on quidco :) Cineworld unlimited for the win...also get 25% off food and drink...+10% back on quidco. I'm tem...

Re: movies

I disagree. I thought the stage show wasn't all it's cracked up to be. I felt the general set up was a bit dull, but then that's largely down to the 360 degrees gimmick of the stage, but it felt to me like they just wapped out props as token gestures. I just didn't feel anything at all all the way ...

Re: movies

Saw Metallica: Through the Never in IMAX. WOW. The 'story' is barely more than an extended music video interspersed with the concert footage, it's mildly interesting, but I think I wouldn't have missed it if it wasn't there. But what this is really is, is a concert. Filmed in Canada last year, with ...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

So what crap event stopped Dexter being shown this week? 3 episodes left and they can't even maintain a regular schedule. No wonder so many shows get cancelled due to low ratings, nobody can ever be sure when they're on!

Re: movies

Saw Jurassic Park in 3D IMAX. I'll accept that the 3D was a bit dodgy in places, but aside from that, it's a masterpiece that shows it has barely aged a day in 20 years. I did see it the first time around, it's always been one of my favourite films and I'm glad I got the chance to see it on the BIG ...

Re: movies

Saw Lone Ranger and Wolverine yesterday. Lone Ranger was far too long, and didn't capture the magic of the first Pirates film, which is obviously what they were hoping for. Johnny Depp reprises his role as Jack Sparrow, and Arnie Hammer makes a good John Reid. As a whole it was good fun, especially ...

Re: movies

Am I the only one that thought the origin story was done well enough? Particularly the flashbacks? Everyone fucking knows Supermans origins, there isn't much of a point in going over his early years for the billionth time. The flashbacks served their purpose well, but like others have said, they di...

Re: movies

I didn't think Man of Steel was that bad, but it had two major flaws: The narrative was shit. The 'origin story' we were promised was brushed over with rubbish flashbacks that robbed it of any emotion. As already noted, the last half hour of the movie was just a beat em up game. There's only so many...

Re: Recent Photos of Yourself

You look like a cowboy I think  Awesome. Interestingly, everyone over here calls it a cowboy hat, but I went to Texas last year and they were all looking at me trying to work out what sort of hat it was. It's very definitely not a cowboy hat. The shape of the top is very different. I have that...

If you never watched an episode, how do you know it doesn't grab you?

Personally I think it was the best news of the year! I can't wait!
