Re: Tube strike

Two of my party are going to be hiking across London during rush hour tomorrow. That will be an epic quest. They will have to get to Euston from Charing Cross, which isn't too bad. Worst case scenario it's a quite nice 40 minute walk. The thing with busses on a strike day is that you have to get on ...

Box office

I have a very quick, and very stupid question. Cab you buy tickets at the box office or do you have to order them online first to pick them up? I know its logical that you should be able to buy them, but I just want to be absolutely certain. Bloodstock said something about charging postage to send y...

Re: God daughters present.

There's a guy at the festival that sells drinking horns, jewellery and all sorts of interesting stuff themed around viking mythology. I think something like a christening gift needs to go the extra mile, you need to give her something that will actually mean something. With that in mind, I have two ...

Haha, that's another thing to add to the list then.

Re: Anyone bought a flag pole from boa stall before?

ton of bamboo poles or something as a flagpole This may be my fall back option. Strap it to Gazebo leg and hope its high enough to be worth the effort  At download this year some guys camped next to us made a flagpole out of duct tape and bamboo poles. To my absolute amazement it worked... it ...

Re: Anyone bought a flag pole from boa stall before?

Flagpoles aren't banned from Bloodstock just the arena so you can still take them, don't need bamboo or whatever. Of course, my point was that he wouldn't be able to buy one at the festival, and judging by the original post it sounds like he can't buy a telescopic flag pole before the festival (oth...

Re: Anyone bought a flag pole from boa stall before?

They're banned from the arena, and all the market stalls are in the arena. Therefore you can't get flagpoles at bloodstock. You can however use things like a fishing rod or a ton of bamboo poles or something as a flagpole (although it won't be as high). I wouldn't worry though - the bloodstock camps...

Re: Oh yeah, tent...

Pop-up tents are generally pretty shit. They're just about OK for a festival, as long as it doesn't rain. There are three big issues for me with a pop-up tent: 1) Cost - they're very expensive for what you get, you're paying for convenience really. 2) Size - Carrying a giant circle around with you o...

Wow, that's something special.

I saw a guy try to sneak a bag of wine under a top hat before. A gust of wind spoiled his attempt.

Re: What beers are you bringing?

All this talk of hipflasks reminded me that I still have this bad boy, and I haven't even used it yet. That may have to change. http://s27.postimg.org/6hjfw6gdv/DSC_0073.jpg Yeah because someone bringing an old games cartridge into a festival arena totally isn't suspicious. Especially when they sha...

Re: Excited?

Might be a good idea to start stocking up on booze as well. Hopefully the supermarkets don't limit the amount you can buy in one go otherwise we'll be doing quite a few trips  Considering the fact that I saw someone buy three trolleys full of wine and beer the other day, I don't think it will ...

Re: Big trolley thing

Sweet, then it's settled. Thanks everyone.

Now, getting to the festival is another matter. Do you think you can fit 5 people and a roof rack and boot full of shit on a car and driving 200 miles without it dying?

We had a people carrier but it died on us so I need to think of plan b quick.
