Re: The (speculative) Weather Thread

I love hats, but sometimes you take it off for a minute or forget to put it on.

Re: The (speculative) Weather Thread

As long as the sun isn't beating down on my rapidly balding head I'll be very happy.

Seriously, you don't want sunburn on your scalp. The only alternative is suncream but then you'll look like Lisa when she got gum in her hair.

Re: Big trolley thing

Plus, think of the drunk fun you'll have getting people to wheel you about while you're sat in it Now this is a major plus actually. I already have plans to fashion it into some kind of sedan chair, get someone I know completely hammered and then carry them around like a little princess. I've just ...

Re: What beers are you bringing?

I also tried the cheap and nasty budget rum from supermarkets that comes in plastic bottles one year. Don't do that. It was so disgusting that I was wondering how to drink it, later on I was so tired I needed a red bull, so I thought I'd try it with that. That was to this day the worst decision I ev...

Re: Big trolley thing

Yeah but fuck paying £20 or whatever every time. I go to 3 festivals a year and the thing cost under £60 so it'll already have paid for itself by next bloodstock probably. Also - drop off point you say? The only problem with that is, isn't it usually mega busy, like, heaving with people? I plan on l...

Re: Music for the Journey

Mate get an Arnocorps CD.

Nobody in my group knows this yet, but we're listening to nothing but Arnocorps on the way up. Over and over again.

I might allow a quick listen to some Nuclear Assault or Korpiklaani. Maybe.

Big trolley thing

Those of you that have ever been to a 'major' festival like Sonisphere and Download (especially download) know what a pain in the arse it is to haul your stuff for 6,000 miles to get to the campsite. To solve that issue, I bought one of these Now, I'm in two minds as to whether I need to - or should...

Re: What beers are you bringing?

I'm a cheapskate (and lazy) so it's usually spirits for me, easier to carry.

You'll also be disappointed to hear that the beer I do bring is cheap and nasty. Anyone seen any good offers around? I'm not fussy, except for Fosters. And Carling.

Re: Deli Kate

Eggy Bread Bacon Butties are a must. We have a Bain Marie now, so it should all move a bit faster Download was fine, we got paid as promised but because we didn't keep to the programmed prices we didn't make a 'killing' but I refused to charge £3.50 for a plain coffee and £3.00 for tea. It made u...

Re: Overall, Do You Like This Years Lineup?

With the exception of Rob Zombie the headliners are awful for me this year, but I still get why they do it. Popular headliners are enough to bring in new punters, whilst the regulars and the proper metal fans go for the other bands lower down the bill. Let's just hope they don't fuck up the opportun...

I suspect this.

No self respecting designer of anything would opt for such illegible font and colours that are so hard on the eye that you can't read for more than a few minutes.

Re: Ticket Prices

There are so many other factors that drive up prices in the UK I think. They might not all be right, but I can think of plenty of stuff that could affect prices. Probably the biggest thing is that the metal scene here doesn't seem to be as big - so festivals have a significantly lower attendance. Th...

I don't find the main site displays properly at all (tried Chrome, Opera, Firefox & IE) everyone has things in the wrong place or cut off part of the screen. Don't get clicking on a cross in the top-right corner to get into the main site, stupid idea, crosses mean exit. To aid reading writing s...

Re: Would BOA get better if it was run earlier in the year?

August is better for festivals because it's in the school holidays. Considering most people aged 16-18 and potentially people at uni have exams then, that's big chunk of people who can't go or have to wait until their exams dates are released to buy tickets. That might be a consideration at Downloa...

Re: "Non-Bloodstock" bands you would accept

Ah yes, some punk would probably work. I'd like to see some little punk bands on the new blood stage or something now that you mention it. What about some Hardcore stuff like Gallows or Fucked Up? I don't particularly like them on record, and generally the whole genre is pretty shit, but it's great ...
