Re: Rumours
Hoping for an announcement tomorrow, been nearly a month since the last one; not to sound entitled but seems like a good time have another announcement.

Re: Rumours
Your at the festival to have fun, one drunken sing-along band can make the weekend much more memorable. UFO or Black Star Riders (Thin Lizzy based set) would be great, I'll even wear a Phil Lynott afro wig if it seals the deal for the BOA organisers

I would love them just to be booked just so I can see their name on the poster next to bands like Cannibal Corpse and Death to All

Re: Rumours
They've got a point. How many albums have Amon Amarth sold? Fuck all compared to Saxon. Saxon could easily headline BOA and play a two hour set crammed full of classics. Maybe but you don't then agree to play at a certain slot then moan about it! Anyway music, especially metal isn't about where you...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
The better plan would be a re-structuring of the voting areas based on STV, then a re-allocation of recources on a three-pronged system, based partically on geographic area (basic infrastructure maintainance), partially on population density (public services), and partial on an inverse proportion o...

Re: Rumours
A band can still step up and progress, it's a case of hedging your bets on two bands combining to make their step ups successful. If anything, it makes the future of the UK music scene more viable in the long term as it doubles the pool of headline bands and it lets smaller bands grow by piggy backi...

Re: Rumours
Watain did sub headline though... is it really such a stretch for them to make that last leap? If i remember rightly they weren't subs that was Dio Disciples but they switched slot times but not lengths. Is there even a difference in set lengths between being sub and third? To be honest I'd say Wat...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
I agree. We should have something like the arrangement in Germany: http://www.itcwebdesigns.com/tour_germany/map_german_states.gif People have objected to creating artificial regions, but as long as they don't cut up the traditional counties then I don't see what it matters. The population is so la...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
Personally i think we should adopt a federal structure, even though i'd be dooming myself to perpetual torie rule. It won't happen because it would mean vastly weakening Westminister, but i think the UK as a whole would greatly benefit

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
The big issue i have with English MP's doing double duty is that we will still have less choice than the rest of the UK. We would have to choose an MP on their stance on England and the UK together, so if you'll have to compromise your views on the UK or England; whereas two separete MP's the issue ...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)
Opinoin seems to be divided over whose utilising English devolution more as a weapon, miliband or cameron. personally think its Cameron is as he's rushing it through while he has the advantage before next May; and he's ignored the issue of English MP's doing double duty. On the other hand Milliband ...

Re: Rumours
I think the heaviest we'll get will be a Friday headliner along the lines of Machine Head or Lamb of God. I know a lot of people think that Within Temptation are the more mainstream headliner this year, but I think we'll get another one for Friday too, maybe Trivium or (more likely considering rece...

Re: Next announcement
Typical the website goes down as they announce 3 debutant acts  Amazing announcement for me! Going to book my ticket later this month when those rock passes go on sale, 3 bands I've wanted to see for ages (never thought I'd get to see Nuclear Assault or Dark Angel!) good death/thrash mix for me...
