Re: Sophie stage headliners
I think that too many people who go to Bloodstock and the Bloodstock organisers are viewing to Sophie Lancaster stage all wrong. Instead of treating it as a second or lesser stage it should be a stage that is an alternative to what is going on at the main stage. All this talk of “oh that band is to...

Re: Sophie stage headliners
I'd imagine they are probably quite expensive to book compared to other previous headliners ironically  I think if anything they are probably the big money headliner this year, so can't see the bookers throwing most of their budget on one day when they want to spread the quality out to maximis...

Re: Sophie stage headliners
Yet Within Temptation are taking up a headline slot :? Opeth are far more suited to Bloodstock and should have been headlining instead. WT are a fair bit bigger than Opeth, they almost sold out Wembley arena and played 3rd down on main at Download this year, so it makes sense that they're playing a...

Re: Next announcement
Were all in agreement that we need more thrash next year then? 2013 was epic  I don't want more than 3 or 4 bands of any genre on main stage to be honest. I was joking  As much as I love thrash I'd prefer a more varied line up, 3-4 of a genre on mainstage sounds about right to me, unless...

Re: Next announcement
One or two stoner bands I wouldn't mind, but I thought it was (reasonably) well represented this year, at least on the lower stages. More doom would be lovely. This year was good for it other than Graveyard who are vaguely stonerish no bands were on mainstage for that genre but i mean other than ma...

Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
Judas Priest, Scorpions and Deep Purple all fall into what i`d guess the affordability category Didn't Scorpions turn down Download because of the money on the table? I heard that it was because they were offered to play the second stage which they didn't want as it would of short-changed fans in t...

According to their post dated yesterday they expect to hit 1600 ticket sales this week. The capacity is 3000.
Ah yeah, so it does. I stand corrected

Re: Next announcement
Just for them to go and decide not to show up :? I just want to see Deicide  Hopefully if BOA keeps booking them, one year they'll decide to turn up! Actually, if you look at the Damnation page apparently they are close to selling out, could some of the bands playing there be in line for BOA n...

Re: The Headliner Prediction Thread
After their performance at BST this year, I wouldn't book Lemmy for BOA as it will more than likely confirm their previous BOA performance as not a one off misfire. Best to unfortunately not book them I think, as much as I hate to say that

Re: Next announcement
It all depends. Quite a few of the bands that I reckon are going to be booked are due to tour in the next few months. So I think they will get those dates out of the way first. So who is touring the UK in the near future that would A) be probable for BOA 2015 B) big enough to make a first announcem...

Re: Next announcement
There is no "right" or "wrong" way of dealing with a situation like that, if a band feels threatened going back on stage then it is their decision as to whether to go back out there or not (standard thing put into contracts under security). Given the crowd is thousands big and yo...
